Last Sunday was Father’s Day here in Australia, and this was the first Father’s Day I got to celebrate with two kids. It was also the first time I received a hand made card and gift from my son.

It was very touching to read those words on the card and his drawings and writing.

Oh that's really a great feeling when you received it my friend! My daughter is 3 yrs now and i know next year she will give me a gift like this too! How i'm looking forward to that moment!

Happy Father's Day! It is very touching to receive cards from your kids. I received many of those as mine is 7 yo, but each card is as special as the first one. I keep and treasure them all.

That's very cute and (in my opinion) a treasured gift. Hand-made items are worth way more than something bought in a store.

Many others have offered the same advice, and so I've reduced my work days to 3 days per week, and trying to spend as much time with my children as possible. :)Thanks @happyme. Couldn't agree more, hand-made gifts are more precious, especially when done with love. I will definitely treasure it.
That sounds wonderful, if you can financially afford it. After they reach teenagehood most children begin to pull away from their parents, so you could increase your work days at about that stage. You generally have most influence on children until they start school, so those are the most critical years for establishing your values on them. Once they enter the school system, peers become more important while the parents' position begins to slide.
