in #life7 years ago

Today I will bring to you the "Top 10 Introvert Celebrities". Feel free to check my blog for more Introvert related articles such as the signs that you might be an introvert. But let's dive into the post, shall we...

1. J. K. Rowling

Precisely, the known "Harry Potter" author revealed herself as an introvert. It's not wrong to think like this since introversion is linked to a bigger creativity and taste for writing! Rowling said that she writes since she was 6 years old and, when describing herself as an introvert, she told the story of how she came up with the idea of "Harry Potter". She said: "(...) i was sitting alone in a train and I never felt so sure about a though like this before. Unfortunately I didn't have a pen with me and I was really embarassed to ask someone to borrow one. But not having that courage was the best thing I could do, because during the 4 hour train ride i just sat thinking of a skinny boy with black hair and glasses, that I didn't know yet that he would be a wizard, but that became a really important person to me."

2. Bill Gates

The president of the Microsoft board is an example of an introvert who is not shy. This means, he's quiet and studious, enjoys his personal space, especially alone with his computer, but even developing his social skills, "we can only stretch our personalitys up to a certain point".

However, he is not a shy person, because he's not bothered with other's opinion and tries to be somewhat social, a mecanism that he trained for years to "fight" his introversion.

3. Abraham Lincoln

At the beginnig of nations, the introverts where the most respected among other people. The interior strenght, integrity and good actions where praised, even when no one was watching. Being calm, quiet, reserved, would give a respectable, impressing and worthy image to the introvert.

Abraham Lincoln was like this and was referenced a lot as the man who "didn't offend by superiority".

4. Christina Aguilera

Despite showing as a very extrovert person on stage, the mentor of "The Voice" always said she identified as the opposite. On an interview, Christina mentioned that she always was "intense and introvert", two adjectives that don't complement each other in the best way, what resulted on her feeling "weird" all her life. This way, despite being introvert and shy on a daily basis, she uses her intensity on her musical career.

5. Courteney Cox

Monica from "Friends" claimed to be a person who likes to stay home and, despite liking to have people there, is not very social. This was one of the motives that led her to get the divorce with her now ex-husband David, an extrovert who loved to party, go out and dance.

6. Albert Einstein

The great physicist that developed the teory of relativity addressed himself as an introvert. Gifted with a lot of quotes, he said that " the monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind", explaning later that he enjoyed his private and alone space and to reach his ideas alone.

7. Emma Watson

In addiciton of being the "nerd" on the "Harry Potter" saga, she was also the star on "Perks of being a Wallflower" where she said, in an interview that she considered herself as an "introvert by nature" and that she didn't like to go to partys, where she said "no" to them almost automatically instead of being a conscious choice.

The actress claimed that in the start she thought that something was wrong with her, since all her friends wanted to go out, while she wanted to stay home. Lastly she topped off with "Our society's extroverts are very valorized, if you're not like them, that's because something is wrong with you and you're not ok. This is the story of my life and when I knew this, it gave me a lot of strenght to carry on with being different."

8. Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi's work is a positive evidence that you don't need to be an extrovert to be an efficient lider. He once said: "in a gentle way, you can shake the world". And that was what he did, in a respectful and conservative way that he garanteed was because of being an introvert.

9. Audrey Hepburn

The british actress said a lot of times that she was an introvert, loved her space, freedom, walking alone and observing everything around her, despite of her public persona.

10. Roy Rogers

Nickname "King of Cowboys" by his role on diverse farwest musicals, the singer and actor told CNN "I'm profundly introverted", followed by how the show world, even if being his passion, was always very hard for him.
