Hello guys, my name is Nelson, i am a 24 years old guy from Venezuela. I found this social media really interesting since i am someone that follows all the cryptocurrencies and blockchain innovations, so i decided to give it a try.
i'll tell you a little bit about myself, I am a Computer Technician, actually studying Business Administration, i love things like Photography (i'm probably starting to post a lot of great pictures i take around) Formula 1, spirituality, philosophy, poetry, gaming, good music and books. i Speak both English and Spanish languages and i'm currently trying to learn French as well.

Thanks mate! i already have a lot of people introducing me to the Steemit world and i found it better with every thing i learn, i have been learning about crypto and blockchain since two years ago but i always had fear to make the step to join Steemit because i thought i had nothing to share here, but i'll try to do my best to contribute to the comunnity!
There's a big photography community here, so I'm sure your contributions wool be most welcome. The Spanish speaking community is growing fast too, so you can contribute in Spanish too. Experiences of your country and university life would be interesting for many too. So don't worry about not having anything to contribute. It's all good. :D

sure a few judges should check out your post. If they like it a lot they pick you to win a share of @steembasicincome that service upvotes your post with a bigger vote the more shares you get. I am also in @contestkings if you want to find more contest to join all of theirs don't require upvotes to enter. You don't need to do anything to win at this point but the group has a discord you can share a post if you support others post. That is the rule so it is a good place to meet people there are a few groups like that here.

Here is some information every newbie should know:
The value of an upvote is related to how much Steem Power the upvoter holds, as well as the current market price for the STEEM cryptocurrency coin.
Upvotes are not infinite, but they recharge. The more upvotes a person uses, the less it will be worth next time. On average, each person can give 10 full upvotes per day, because it's also how much upvotes recharge daily. People have to pick between many posts to decide what they're going to upvote, often choosing something they like but also taking profits into consideration. If someone doesn't upvote you, they could be waiting for their voting to recharge.
Your free account started with a borrowed 15 Steem Power. As you earn from your posts and comments, that will be taken away until you're standing on your own feet in the platform.
Remember to both give and take. If people only want to take away from the platform, the STEEM coin will eventually be worth nothing, because then everyone wants to sell while noone would be willing to buy.
If you run into posting limitations, that means you need more Steem Power. It's like a "bandwidth". The more you hold, the more you can do. It recharges, but slowly if you don't have much SP.
Steem Power can be bought, but it can also be delegated (borrowed/lent) using a steemit command. It can be undone by using a similar command too, so the delegator is in complete control.

The situation in Venezuela is currently pretty bad and getting worse by the days pass, it is really hard to live here, food and medicine shortage, worthless salaries, insecurity, hiperinflation and so on... Definitely not a place to visit now.
