Not for the faint of heart: the forbidden images of the holy city of Varanasi.

in #life8 years ago

Not recommended for viewing to persons under 18 years, and particularly impressionable people with unstable mentality!

Varanasi - (. English Varanas) city having for Indians the same meaning as the Vatican for Catholics.

It is the favorite city of Brahma and Shiva, Buddha, too, I was here. And how it was in reality - is unknown. The religious geography of Hinduism, Varanasi is the center of the universe.

On the banks of the sacred River Ganges in Varanasi, daily burn hundreds dead: the fires are burning 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and from those who want to be buried in such a way there is no release. People go to any tricks, just to get to the coveted ghats - in the purifying fire.
City of Life and Death. You expect a rather mixed feelings, because life and death are connected in a special way.
I'll start with the usual beautiful pictures and will slowly approach the most terrible

and night view

Now most unpleasant to the human eye.

When reading about the city, I thought that anything and everything is burned! In the end it turned out that not everyone can look forward to a successful outcome: the dead pregnant women, children, monks, leprosy patients just discharged into the river and float themselves on the sly, bloated bodies under the Indian sun. The river can be found the corpses of cows, because it is sacred animals that in India, as the cat walk by themselves. When dying, they are waiting for the same sacred waters of the Ganges ...

Maybe by the looks and beautiful, religious (send the dead on the river), but if you go back to reality. People who were sent down the river, they do not disappear or evaporate. The following picture will show what happens next ....

Photograph just ghats impossible: to get a special permit at the police station, or pay for each click of the shutter. I refuse to pay may reach brawl. So be careful and remember that this is a business, as well as everywhere.

All pictures from google.
