Apply the brakes---Take a break

in #life7 years ago

A month ago someone posted on Steemit.com that he is going to take a week-long break from Steemit.com. I asked him why is he taking a break? He commented that breaks are very important to re-ignite the spirits and motivational level. I don’t remember his Steemit.com name but it really touched my heart and I thought let’s write a post about it.

I know a person in my locality who is no more. He had a business and would always remain busy in that. Whenever there was a family function or an invitation from friends and neighbors, he would avoid it since he wanted to earn all the time. His non-stop work ultimately proved to be fatal for him and he suffered from a dangerous disease. The dilemma was that he even did not go the doctor on right time since he was busy in earning Rupees (Pakistani Currency). At last, he died on his bed with his kids not paying any attention to him. The problem was that he did not take a break from his job even to properly look after his children, to give them fatherly love, and to take the much-needed rest. His children did not feel the love of father when they needed so when he was on the bed, they would not even come near him.

Now let me give you an example of the things around us. If you look at the cars and buses moving on the roads you would definitely notice that even though they are machines and don’t get tired but they need a break too. The laptops and other technological wonders that we use also require a break. If we kept on using these things without any break they would ultimately stop working and same is the case with humans. Humans need a break to re-ignite the spirits and to gain some of the lost energy.

If you look at how important the rest is for humans, you should look at the holidays that employers give to their workers. The workers are provided with some sort of recreational activities as well to keep them up to the task.

Why?

To keep their spirits high.

We at least have a single day in every week for taking a break. Then there are breaks during summers or winters depending on the place you are living in. This is all about regaining the energy.

Stay happy and motivated. Always take a break to go with your family and friends to natural places since it gives you much-need time to spend time with your family and also helps you regain the lost energy during work.

Lots of love.

Exactly@Dynamicgreentk. Thanks for commenting and upvoting.

The body tells us what we need. If we fail to listen to it, it comes back harder and stronger. Our emotions and intuition will inform us before our body does if we can really listen through all the other noise.

I usually take 1-2 days break from steemit every week to keep myself from pushing too hard. :-)

That's a good Idea. In my case the exam days are mostly the break days.

More than agreed. My dad died almost 2 years ago, and was too worried about his work to take care of his health and wellbeing not only physical, but spiritual too. This was fatal for him, unfortunately.
