Hey! Lets blame evolution
One human hangover from evolution is the conscious minds belief that everything is our fault. @Dan left Steemit because he didn't like us, our partner left us for another lover because we did something wrong, or someone cut us up at traffic lights because they didn't like us. None of these could be further from the truth sometimes.
We inherently link our self-worth to material things, and pretty much blame life circumstances for everything that is happening to us.
But the bottom dollar is: Just because your mind may perceive emotional pain and distress, it does not necessarily mean it's about you.
So your telling me it's not about me?
The subconscious mind has a trick that it plays on us all: it makes us think about 'us' all the time so we only ever see small bursts of pleasure for short periods of time before were pulled back down to earth with a thud!
When everything is good in your life you feel on top of the world, but when the honeymoon period fades we tend to feel crashing lows that pull us back down to earth again. Our self-esteem has indeed become a roller coaster within. With this we are robbed of all our joy.
So, how do we break this cycle?
First we need to remember that if something goes catastrophically wrong in your life it does not mean that you have failed as a person, it simply means that your human just like everyone else - and all humans fail from time to time.
When something tragic happens in our lives, we are absolutely convinced it was about ourselves and we end up becoming bitter and twisted. Choosing to live and carry on means that we must embrace these hardships as part of our philosophical musings, as they help build character within.
So next time you want to cry a river over @dan leaving Steemit or your lover leaving you, be sure to know that deserving or not is NOT part of the equation. It can almost seem counter-intuitive - that's because it is - just like most of life.
Live well and Steem on!
Golden words imprinted in gold.

The 4 pillars of @mammasitta wisdom right there ;)
I am in the progress to make a post out of those 4 simple wisdoms we all should live by
A very wise idea! Throw me the link here when your done. I shall devour the post with my critical @mindhunter tongue ;)
Sometimes all the bullshit can make life a bit richer. I know that sounds crazy but I think it is healthy to feel the highs and the lows. Each emotion helps you develop as a person. Sometimes its the nitty, gritty, ugly things in this life that when faced with them -your response (whatever it is) starts to help you define yourself inwardly.
When faced with adversity its always helpful to have gone through it a few times before.. If your set upon by negative emotions or people just feel it out... it will help you learn about yourself. Even if you come out the other side of a conflict a little worst for it... Who cares that's the tapestry of this life. It takes all the colors to make something that is rich and beautiful to look at. Dramas usually break hearts but there is a reason people still watch them. Sometimes the deepest sorrows can generate the most wonderful of creations. Anyways - I like this post. Hope to see more like this.
I have an inbuilt bullshit detector @artwatch - BEWARE! :)
hmm? What was bullshit about what I just said?
Nothing. I'm just jesting at others :D Naughty hunter!! All comments upvoted!!
K - new here - just thought if I read something I liked I should put some thought into the comment is all. I drone on... and on and on. I am sorry. I can't help that. I try but it just goes on.
No man! I loved that huge comment! I upvoted it. I meant too much fb bullshit in the wider world. My wires are v.sensitive too it! Steem on dude! Please call again. If you need help with anything Steemit related just let me know OK. Cool :)

Great quality article @mindhunter
I think I might be getting the hang of Steemit formatting now!! :))
It only took me 11,000 posts!!
Well said! But even if I agree at the same time I believe that the fact of being human carries in itself a percentage of selfishness included. It is normal to place yourself as the center of the situation you are experiencing. Be good or bad ... in the examples you put is bad but when it is a good thing we tend to do the same ;)
Live well you too and Steem on!
Agreed Juan. The ego can never be totally extinguished. We must just minimise it to levels where it doesn't run the whole show!
:D true!
Our job is just to make sure that the slave does not become the master!
Bonus points for explaining the psychology behind it so well !
I LOVE psychology XD
95% of our life comes from the subconscious mind, so once you wrestle the power back your good to go @pbock! :)
P.S. Never forget to take time to party! https://steemit.com/photography/@mindhunter/partying-with-my-dutch-friend-rogier-smit-in-gstaad-switzerland-the-weather-is-gin-clear-so-pull-up-a-chair-we-have-the-best
I don't take Dan's leaving personally at all, I just think it's a shame to lose him and, if he had to leave, I would have liked to see him have a nicer exit.
I don't either, but I've seen a few comments that haven taken it personally as a reflection of Steemit ... but were wise old Steemers and don't listen to that kind of chat ;)
Amen
Cheers bearded dude!!
greatest simple book
Very cool! Excellent vid :))
Do you think "you're" would be better than "your" when you mean "you are" and that "we're" would be better than "were" when you mean "we are"? Where is the Steemit autocorrect when you need it?
I know I swap around a lot during article too! I'm Steeming much too fast my friend! It's causing high levels of punctuation annoyment! I love that word I made up! ANNOYMENT! Thanks Johnny. I promise to slow down. Cool username by the way ;)
