Whenever Ya Start Feelin' Sorry For Ya-self

Every Saturday we get 3 gallons of raw milk from the Pensacola farmer's market. I stopped by John Lewis' house on the way there to talk about this letter he's writing to the Mayor of New Orleans, Mitchell Landrieu. He and his grandson Fela didn't seem to be around.

Their garden is incredible. Organic. Eden. Fela is John's grandson and around 9 years old now. He used to study piano here at Temple of Wow.

Got the milk, some large eggs, a watermelon and some potatoes. Usually spend more there but had forgotten to bring more cash.

Cheryl Kitrell who'm we get honey from (when I've lost our bees again) is a mystic. She and John (the king bee) are wonderful. They asked about Rivka, who has been saying that whenever they are as physically active as we've been this week studying Yuruba dance with Ola Olu, their emotional and physical state benefits greatly from it. John offered some advice from a former employer: "Whenever ya start ta feelin' sorry for ya-self, get up a little earlier, work a little harder and you'll feel better."

One of my favorite people in the neighborhood is this cat Lee who rides his bike around. He knows the name of everyone in the hood and our dogs. A few months ago he got a temp gig doing construction on the new Escambia Health Center up the street and he was out there with his hard hat this morning talking to an old woman.

When I said hi, the woman, whom Lee was giving a dollar to, asked if I could give her a ride home. Where to? Tee street? Sure.

Can we stop at the 24-hour store? Sure.

I walked all the way over here to my friend's house and she's not home. We were supposed to go to the plasma center.

She gets a beer from the store with the dollar and 45 cents from my change bin.

Back in the passenger seat she reaches over, finds my crotch with her finger tip and says,

wanna have some fun? I could use the money?

No. I'm married. Don't think my partner would appreciate it.

Nice to meet you. Please come to our community association meeting. First Tuesday of the month, 6-7pm Zee and Gonzales.

Back to the house for a little yardening, reading the kids an awesome Chinese folk tale, quick dip in the giant kiddie pool.

Good Shabbas, Brownsville

Of course I'll be psyched if you resteem this. It might be a first resteeming of my output.
