RE: Dr. TLK _ Perspectives _ Freedom or Selfishness?

in #life7 years ago

Freedom of speech is to not be persecuted for what you say. To control others speech is wrong. Though between friends, I have no trouble showing a bit extra if that friendship means something. I see no trouble in asking something of someone, as you already respect one another; I would assume most friendships do indeed mean something between people. We can work it out with that person if there are concerns or walk away.
The freedom we are seeking.
Your questions are well thought out, I must say.

  1. You are not being controlling. It's a respectful request. You are not being controlled by listening/ reading your friends words. A choice can be made to not listen/read.
  2. You are absolutely correct.
  3. That is up to you and your friend. I'm sorry it has worked out this way.
Someone's speech can be insulting to another. It can be disrespectful, we can grow with eachother in a society, but whats the other side if that? A fine for saying something someone doesn't like?
    Thanks for sharing your story

Thank you very much my dear @mike.rod for reading and answering my questions.

I am sorry it has to turn this way as well, but I guess things happen in life.

I used not to like conflict and try to avoid it as much as possible to the point that others used to take advantage of me and my silence which makes me grow resentful and unhappy.
Since then, I have decided that sticking to my self-respect is the least I should do to preserve who I am and be at peace with myself.

It is good to live life and learn from it. Every person comes to our lives is a person we are supposed to learn from. I am glad I met this friend, even if it was a short while. I learned a lot by knowing him and hopefully he learned some as well.

Bless you (hug) :D
