The Race Against Time (Part 2)

in #life7 years ago

It was dinner time,

Dad was already home from work, Mom had prepared the usual; Pasta, with lots and lots of meatballs. We had the chicken soup option as well, just in case one of us needed a change. I was only entitled to water, while the grownups had wine.

"How was school today Mike?" Dad asked as he dropped his glass of wine.

The thought of my Ferrari popped up in my head again and then I replied with a grin, "Great" I said, "Really great".

"Great?" He asked in surprise.

"You were lost in class again today boy!"

"So tell me, what's going on?"

"Nothing" I replied. I'm fine Dad"

"Thinking about the Ferrari again?"

Apparently, I had told Dad briefly about my Ferrari episode earlier in the days.

Dinner was over, and I was back at my window in my room.

It was Friday, and I was out there just waiting for my neighbor to come switch up as he always did every weekend.

The night passed,

I woke up pretty late the next morning, I must've slept off waiting.

I dashed to the window, I had missed my neighbor.

Feeling quite dejected, something out of the blue caught my attention,

There was a Ferrari packed right in front of our house.

But this time it was Yellow and it was the same F-50 model.

"I'm beginning to lose my mind", I said to myself.

Was I actually seeing that? Is that real?

I stepped out of the room and headed straight for the stairs.

I could hear two men having a dialogue as I approached the ground floor.

I could tell one was my Dad's voice but the other was unfamiliar.

Finally in the living room, Dad looked at me and said,

"Mike, come on out"

We stepped out, and voila, it was the same I had seen earlier.

It was sooooooooooo elegant, beautiful and magnificent. It was what you would call a MASTERPIECE.

There was nothing like it I had seen. The closer view was awesome (seeing it afar was nothing compared).

"Let's take a ride son", dad said again,

But this time, with a smile.

Still shocked, I hopped in,

Just like i did in class, (hahahahaha)

And immediately, I was gone again (well, you know what i mean).

Then I felt a halt,

Dad looked me in the eye and stayed that way for a little while before saying,

"This is my new machine son and it's mine alone. You've got to work hard to get yours someday..."

And suddenly, it dawned on me, I felt uneasy,

Felt more like something had left me.

The flashes were gone (probably gonna be back someday, who knows).

And so he continued, "We all have times, times when we someday arrive at our destinations, times when we get what we desire. Some get there on time while some get there just in time. But whichever way, we still do. Use your time son and not someone else's time".

He started the car again, this time, he put on his seat belt and said,

"Make Your Choice"

Sort:

I wish that car would be mine: P

Hahahaha LOL.

Ma nigga....."we driving cadillacs in our dream".... know the song??

LOl. No i don't, but I will look it up right away.

This Rarri really is piece of art!
