Almost 8am on a Glorious Sunday morning...

And what are we doing?

Relaxing with the Sunday papers and a cup of coffee? Taking the dogs for a brisk walk in spectacular Sherwood Forest?

Nope, we're getting ready to go to Birmingham to the Classic and Restoration Show at the NEC!

We both enjoyed the show last year and I'm enthusiastic to visit again. We'll see a few friends there, no doubt (usually do) and meet new ones. Making contacts and seeing new innovation is the aim of this visit, plus with the Porsche 911 in the process of being restored, there should be more to seek out in that regard.

Things are progressing in the racing front too. We've been invited to go to a Hill Climb event which we're seriously looking at, if Trev's mum is OK by then. If the 911 is complete and back with us, we may just take that in the Hill Climb because there's a 'run what you brung' section.

Exciting times ahead (as always).

I love my life!

The before and after shots of the car are below.

I can't wait to see the car finished. When are we going for a ride? ;D

Since my first specialty is a mechanic, I spent a lot of time in the garage. So For me, this is a nice looking picture - when I see that people are investing in restoring a good car. I especially like that you are trying to make it original.
It would be interesting that you show us the different stages of repair/assembly of this car.

I like your cars
I appreciate your post

oh what a classic. what a great one to restore. i'd electrify that while i was at it! :)

We're keeping it as original as possible. It's also an investment. We've had the car 30+ years now so doing anything else would seem a shame.

fair enough.

i realy like your taste in cars

I love it..
So great and classic car..
I hope to be more rich than Batman in near future..
Wish you a great sunday..

Oh you got me...I am a Porsche fan for many a year.

Wow such a beautiful 911! I love the old Porsche’s so much, such a classic shape. By to mention the amazing in line sound! I’ve never driven a 911 but I would love to restore one soon. I was looking at a barn find 924 I was thinking of trying something with:)
I love the run what ya brung events! Hill climb will be fun:) I used to go to Santa pod for the drag racing frequently and loved the run what ya bring days!

saludos...como siguen los suegros??...

I can't wait to see the restoration completed. What an awesome car. Great little investment. These are exciting times, Michelle. The Hill Climb sounds really exciting. I have only been to one and it was exhilarating. Have a great time today at the show.

You guys enjoy yourself and get the much-needed break.
We are getting cold and rain here today. Waugh!
I need to write anyway and catch up with everyone else.
Time goes so freaking fast.
I think all my friends in the UK are getting to me because last night in this bizarre dream I found myself saying, "What the bloody hell?"

I have never said that in my life. Lol. It is not in our vernacular. I will let you if it intensifies and I need "Dusty's" help.

I hope she's well enough that you can go. That sounds exciting! And getting to take your own restored Porsche would make it even better.

I didn't realize they had back seats. From the look of it, you couldn't put more than a sack of groceries back there. Ha ha.

Gosh that's a lovely car!! I hope you get to do the 'run what you bring' section - that would be so much fun! Have a great day :)

That is a gorgeous car - can't wait to see the restoration complete.

I love my life!

I love to hear that! Have a wonderful day! xox

We enjoy our Sunday in a similar fashion. I love the cars. One thing you missed that the front interior of the car where the steering is. I really love to see the that part in the cars.

By the way this post is beautiful. And the cars too.

LOL! I wish I was rich like Batman!

The cost of the car was £13,000 when we bought it in 1987 - equivalent £25,000 at today's prices = Bargain!

Over the time we've owned the car, not including other expenditure, like servicing and repairs, the car has cost around £8 per week to own. Not a bad investment really.
