Aargh, only a few hours ago my plane descended through the miles of murky grey cloud into Glasgow. The holiday is over.
However, what better way to cheer myself up than to find some exotic beers and get drinking!! What a selection this week. Sure there ain't no sun and instead an incessant grey rain but I have a feeling in a few hours I won't really mind :0)
So let's go!
Cor flip. The design of this bottle leapt out at me right away. Is he some kind of samurai in a spacesuit? Is that the moon? Are those little ninjas in the background? Madness, still it caught my eye!
Now to the taste!
Brewed by Pressure Drop, the bottle claims it is a foraged herb hefeweisse, whatever that really means. Pours light and cloudy.
Ha! What a coincidence after last week, it tastes faintly of rosemary. Just a hint. Very glugggable with a hint of citrus. A good summers day beer. Yum! Goes down in minutes! Good job it's only 3.8%
Leading me nicely on to...
This one is from a Scottish brewers, Fallen Brewing. It's a rich cloudy amber and is hoppy with detectable hints of pine. It's frankly quite lovely.
Gaaar! That's put the hairs right back on my chest! Just what I needed. I must have been psychic because I bought three of these fellows and not the normal two. I love it!!
But needs must. Onto the last, very cheeky chap. I have always had a fondness for chilli beer so enter...
A chipotle porter?! What the very blazes. I am intrigued by the design and the blurb.
Drink with caution?!? How very dare they! For when I drink I throw caution to the wind!! Take that!
Let's pour this sassy fronker.
Oh, maybe they had a point. It's as black as night and looks to have a bit of the devil in it. Oh well here goes.
Cor blimey. It's really smokey. Smokey as a pirates thumb that's been firing a canon all day. Not much chilli though. Aye aye, wait. Is that a mild burn beginning?
There is! Just a mild burn but it is palpable. That makes me a happy chap. I probably wouldn't have more than one or two of these but it is very nice for an in betweener!
Oof, burny. Reminds me of the time I threw a nearby bucket of water on a fire to douse it and was blown back by the BOOM!
How was I to know it was petrol?
Anyway, amazing beers! The winner for me is Dragonfly but the other two were neck and neck for second.

I'm jealous! Do you get them from a specialty shop or are the available at the normal super market?
I get them from both. The supermarkets here are really going for craft beers in a big way and not too far from me is a speciality one that has some of the fancier beers. I am always quite excited when they get some new brands in which really does seem to be every other week!

Dirty Sanchez wins on the originality, namesake, and art points - I would never have thought of 🌶 with a porter.

I would have never thought of chilli with a porter either but the smokiness just suits it perfectly. The Dragonfly, is a winner!! Cheers!!

It does! I am so glad that craft beers are so popular now. For ages beer seemed a little stale. They needed a good shake up!
I like the color and the bottle for the Wu Gang beer and I'd probably try the Dragonfly if I was a drinker but I doubt I'd have the guts to try the Dirty Sanchez one. :D

It is a German pilsner, very basic, refreshing, slighly bitter, hint of malty sweetness.
Hahaha, yes the little madams know how to keep daddy occupied. "Would you like to make another sandcastle for me Daddy? Yours are so beautifull." Hard to resist. Loved those kind of holidays myself, good times. :-)
