To anyone on the Steemit platform who needs a place of relaxation, allow me to sell you the Oregon coast. (Just to confirm, before you read this: I am not a Yogi).
The past few days I have travelled down the West Coast of America; traversing through the dense forests of Washington, the crumbling cliffs of Oregon, and the rolling hills of California. It would not do this journey justice to place such a diversity of landscapes into one post, so the subject of this blog is Oregon.
Highway 101 scrambles down the coast and opens up some of the most panoramic views of the Pacific to any traveler. There is no better place to eradicate the constant buzz of city life than the tranquility of an open view: Ocean breeze is the brain’s best medicine.
The instrument of this journey turned out to be my family’s Jeep. We deliberated prior to the trip on whether we fly or drive – without hesitation, I can confirm we made the right choice. (I will admit that fatigue and a comfy pillow made for a much comfier trip).
I have struggled to find scrumptious food to excite my English taste buds living in Seattle, but further south revealed itself to be more suffice. While British Fish and Chips are unarguably the greatest known to man, Oregon puts up a fair fight – author inputs a subtle shout out to Tom’s restaurant.
Now onto the surfing, what is a coast without waves? It was such a shame that I forgot my trunks, otherwise I would be out there showing the locals how to properly surf. (Author scrunches face in the admittance of acting cowardly toward the cold). The ocean in this region produces some of the best surfing environments, aside from the fact that the waters come in from further north - making it rather chilly.
The best part of the journey was finding those hidden wonders. The highlight of the trip: seeing a seal. Or was it a dog?
My last post I shared my trip to the Californian wineries, a different environment and one you should definitely check out. Let me know in the comments on your favorite places to relax and feel relieved. I love sharing these trips and I enjoy using Steemit to show you guys and hear about your adventures.
Looks beautiful I can only imagine what Lewis & Clark must have thought when they finally reached the beautiful Pacific.
