A child believes so much in what his parents or teacher says about him. when a child did a little job / assignment at home or answers a question in the class but couldn't do well in any of these, how do you react to him? Your reaction at this moment, counts.Saying some positive words like; you tried, you can do better, i believe in you, keep on trying, thank you,etc. boasts the child's confidence and he would be eager to do better, having a positive mind that you can help him to grow when he makes mistakes.
Shouting at a child over his little mistake or performance,saying some negative words like; stupid child, idiot, you cann't do anything good, lazy child, coconut head and all kinds of abuses, demoralizes the child and reduces his self confidence. He will grow up with the stigma that he can do nothing good and so acts the same.
Encourage your child, friends,colleagues and others in their little efforts by saying some positive words and you will be suprised at the wonders they perform. Even though this post makes no sense to you, show some love and i will do better
