You are absolutely right .. wonderful words from you, well done
Thanks for sharing this with us
Thanks @slimanepro so nice to have you reading all my posts :)
The past is is unchangeable, and if you can't change something, you shouldn't worry about it I completely agree. Sometimes I cringe of the silly things I've said or done in the past. Generally when I'm in the shower I think about it and scrub my hair or face really hard with soap, lol. But yes when you look at your past and say OMG, it is because you have grown. Great write up. Cheers.
Thanks @jfitmisc yeah you're right! We cannot change it. So just learn from it, and think back with a smile :)
Also, don't rub your face to hard with soap man, what if it comes off? :P
I'm not ashamed of my past but it could have been better.
And if I get a chance I little bit of it.😈
Haha yeah! :)
Hahah not really but some pictures you thought looked great back then don't look so nice now.
Yes I have that too! :) but I'm never really happy with my pictures @mydivathings

It's absolutely important to keep growing and developing yourself. I really like the example of Neil Strauss, who had an interesting development that he documented in several books over a decade:
Start out as a guy with no romantic life, clueless about women.
Develop into the world's greatest pick-up artist and started relationship with famous female singer.
After several monogamous relationships, explore all arrangements of polyamory and alternative lifestyles.
Return to one woman, declare his true love and build a healthy, monogamous family with her.
What a journey eh?
Ah I think I heard about that guy in Lewis Howes' book Mask of Masculinity but I'm not sure if that's the same dude :) yeah it's an incredible journey :)
I have used mindfulness techniques to live in the present, not the past or future. Looking back and focusing on negative experiences held me back and kept me living in fear. I have PTSD.
Also i found that predicting the future was a problem for me. I could never go in to a situation without trying to predict my immediate future by using my negative experience of the past as indicators...
A real terrible way to live.. It's just an ever increasing cycle of fear and inevitable violence.
Using mindfulness techniques after counselling taught me to use them was the way forward for me. I'm in no way cured but I'm managing to fight through my demons and enjoy my life..
I have become spiritual.
Thanks for your post, it was thought provoking for me..
@theaverageman I'm happy to hear you have been able to find a way to let your past go, partially or fully.
The only tip I would give you based on what you said is, if it helps you, if not, just ignore it:
You cannot have ptsd, it is not a thing. You 'do' ptsd. Therefore I hope you will do less and less of ptsd every single day because it is not helpful to you and a waste of energy.
You are right, i do "do" PTSD. it's something that i never realized i had. When i was diagnosed as suffering PTSD i was able to challenge some of my fears. Anxiety is a reaction, sometimes not logical, to any given situation. It can cripple you with fear...
Well what I don't like about diagnosis is that it doesn't just put a label on you, it takes away your control. Because if something 'is' it cannot be changed or influenced. Also you probably don't 'have' ptsd when you have to pee real bad. So this means you are not 'doing' ptsd the whole day. You have specific moments where you do it, and moments where you don't. That's why I'm not a big fan of diagnosis the way it is being done currently.
Hola @markdeheide
¿FaceBook? No amigo... Ahí si perdí horas sentado dándole LIKE a artículos de amistades que ni conozco y enterándome de cosas que realmente ni me interesan. Al FaceBook le dije Chao.
Saludos y hasta la vista.
Gracias
Man thanks for such a long comment, yet I don't speak any Spanish, can you please comment in English in the future :)
Sorry
Excuse my english
Hello @markdeheide
The past is something that happened in a period before the present.
Not necessarily the best thing is that it's over. I believe that there may be better and worse past to what a person may be living today. Certainly the past is no longer a reality; more if it was and we must accept it. We can not live from yesterday, we can not live from what we were and did; we have to live from the present and for the future. The present will be the past and the future will remain future until it is present. So let's worry about today, the actions and decisions we make to influence the future.
Do we all want to learn?
Of course. In fact after many years and until 42 days ago I stopped doing something that I really like, it attracts me, it satisfies me, it motivates me and I think it will make me grow. That something is to become part of the Great Stiminiana Family; in which I can humbly contribute gold nuggets for the personal and economic growth of many real friends.
When I joined Steemit I had no idea how my participation in this Network would be, if I was going to have patience, motivation, time, creativity, if it would add value with my votes, articles, comments and answers. I think I still need a lot of road to feel satisfied with my participation but I'm going there.
I want to develop myself, make my work more productive every day, make better posts, better comments, etc ... so that, within a time that I do not want to hurry but I do not want it so far, I can ask myself that question that you put ........... God was this me?
I am proud that every day I spend much better on the Net. I mean with this that I have taken advantage of the learning and my time in Steemit, I have developed and grown.
I look at the past and I do not worry about what I did right or wrong or what I did not do. I just feel good about what I'm doing and that's Working with you and all the members of Steemit.
Facebook? No friend ... There I lost hours sitting giving LIKE to articles of friendships that I do not know and getting to know things that really do not interest me. I told FaceBook, Chao.
Greetings and see you.
Thank you
Hey @reinaldor, thanks for taking the time to translate and such a good story :) Really happy to have you posting on my posts. I'm currently still on facebook but hardly using it to be honest.
Interesting topic.... I remember reading some posts from 10, 12 years ago.... Some serious face palm moments. Couldn't believe those were me. Most surprising and annoying part was the shorthand.... (C U, instead of see you).... Anyway, that enabled me to understand teens/young adults more, and I do cut them some slack! Lol
Haha yes! :) Well @solcross that just means you've evolved a lot and have become a different person which is good :) that's what life is all about, and if it even helps you to understand younger people today that's bonus! :)
Indeed mate, indeed
You are absolutely right, I often look back and think, well that was stupid, I sure progressed since then....only problem is that was last nights post... :)
Voted and followed.
haha well then you're progressing quick :)
Yes apparently! Either that or just stupid, LOL.
Ey, as long as you can laugh about it :)
I do not really scroll back to my FB page, it's more like I get notified of my memory going back lane and I wish I would post less private pictures (I didn't much, but still) and post more of a educational stuff as I do now. I keep my FB personal profile, as I need it for my FB business and my Instagram is also used for the business purposes. The same goes for Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
Yeah, the memories are sometimes so nice, and sometimes very much an: oh-no-I-forgot-about-that moment :)
I also mainly use it for business and private at the same time which doesn't really help :)
I would close my private FB account, but can't, because for the sake of business ... to much work, too many accounts :)
The memories are sometimes, oh gosh that was 7 years ago, oh no that long ago ... uh, I'm not getting any younger ;)
@sasharay well you're not supposed to get any younger so that's okay :)
Oh yeah, that is so true and feeling comfortable in your own skin, no matter the age :)

thankyou very much!
It helped me a lot. really ....good stuff.
You're most welcome @kumarbishnoi
thank you @markdeheide,
Thank you for the optimistic post! I wish you much happiness and prosperity in life!
Thanks @fxtrader I wish you happiness and prosperity as well! Let's make this life even better :)
Where's the rest of it?
There is no rest, I do 1 minute videos daily, and write the blogs on Steemit. They're all very short :)
I thought something was up with my browser and it lost the point. Well, i read somewhere that due to humanist educational approaches in public schools, television and social media, attention spans under a minute .. maybe you'd be better making them 30 seconds
Yeah, or people can pause it halfway through :)
rofl - touche! Now I know what that button is for. I read the video transcript now and - in three words, ignorance is bliss. If you're concerned, (another 3 words) you've grown up.
It is interesting - when I started using Facebook I was already grown up. And when I stopped using it, I had no regrets about what I posted. I only regretted spending time getting to know to much about people I would have been better off, knowing less about ;-)
Game on, bro ;-)

Very simple but attracting thinking has been reflected in this post. Yes, I have re winded my fb pages and am ashamed and shocked about my language, liking, shared content, my own posts etc. And I am happy too that, I have recovered some of my previous limitations. thanks for the post.
Thanks @layesmia Well I find that the most basic and simple thinking is usually the best. People think it is cool to sound smart, but that's just an ego thing. Let's keep things as simple as they can be ;)
People waste their present life for finding more better things! and the destroy their life in such stupid way. Simplicity is most creative, I do believe.

As a software developer I can relate. We have a rule: never look at code you wrote more than a year ago. If you do, you will be like: Holly shit! Was I this dumb!? So we don't want to go through this shame and never break this rule.
@cryptohumster yes! I think that's a very good idea :)
Yeah, the less you think about it, the better off you are
@werstempringmel1 yeah! :)

I agree with your observations. As we grow older and we become more experienced and mature our past should be be viewed with different lenses. Personally, I think that I have made some very good choices that have affected my life positively but this has come about because of my relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. But today I can see that growth has taken place and with new technology I have had to adapt and fulfill my role efficiently. Sometimes one mistake can affect one's life but let it go and move on. I am glad you have moved on and without a doubt you are feeling better. Guess what? If you do not move on and leave your past you can become sick. So thank God for the present! Great post .
Glad to hear you've adopted this life strategy! :)
I really enjoyed this post, thank you for sharing your wiedom!
You're most welcome @dillyshoots! :) happy to see you out here!
You can not change your past, but you can improve in your future. All those moments make you the person you are now. so you have to be proud of all the moments that you already lived. I like these kind of post it make think about me and my life. congrats!
Thanks @sashantoyo in that case I hope see you out here more often! :)
When I look at myself from the past, I cringe at how pathetic and desperate I was for other people's attention, and the lack of self respect I had, but I am also very proud of how much I've developed myself and grown. Your past doesn't define you, and with the correct mindset and a hard work ethic, you can always make your future better.
Thanks @jessica23 you're right! No need to let us be defined by our past, let's define ourselves by our present state :)
Thanks for the tips.
Most welcome @mmo-mmo
Thank you @transparencybot :) yes I use upvotebots to promote my work because I think it is of value, I hope you agree. Much rather promote content here than on facebook bleh...
