DAY 1 MARATHON TRAINING

in #life6 years ago

It’s day 1 of marathon training! I am excited to start this journey. It has been a dream of mine for a very long time. I knew I would never be able to run a marathon when I was close to 200 lbs so I am excited to test my body now at a lower weight!

I do not have a marathon in mind, I just feel drawn to start training. I may have to try training again once I lose more weight. I will be using Vibram shoes to start this journey. My goal on day one is to just run consecutively for 3 miles!

On this 3 mile run, it took me 31:43. It should be pretty easy to improve that time. I was hoping for 9 minute miles. It’s been 3-4 years since I ran 3 consecutive miles. After two miles I switched my running style and I instantly felt more pressure on my knees.

Getting back into running is exciting- I am absolutely chasing the running high!

After a few hours of running, my body is hurting quite bad after all the adrenaline has passed. I regret switching to running heel to toe. I know that I need to change my style or I will have more injuries.

Hey! Nice to see that you want to improve yourself. I am going to suggest some things that should help you get better faster!

First, also train your joints before starting training for running. There are a lot of good courses for this, including those at www.gymnasticbodies.com and www.gmb.io. This will insure your joints are stronger than the impacts you subject them to,

Second, take a look at Tim Ferriss’ 4 Hour Body if you can. There’s an awesome training plan in there for exactly what you want to do , and it is healthier and more effective than most mainstream training plans.

Good luck with your training!
