Opportunities in Dynamism

As the new year approaches, I've been going over everything, trying to figure out how 2025 might look. My personal challenges are clear. I'm still playing catch up from months of cluster headaches and my housing situation is turning out to be much less permanent than I'd planned on. I have resources, but they may not be enough. And one wrong move or another health crisis could wipe out my finances and set me back years, which has happened before.

More than anything, what I need is to make the right choices now so that things work out later. So I've been getting into a space of possibilities, tuning into what's out there to see what resonates. Do I want to live in a cheap tiny condo in a sketchy neighborhood? Trade maintenance work for an apartment in a friend's house? Homestead some godforsaken patch of discount acreage in Appalachia?

Underneath it all, the real question is how I want to spend my time. I'm very clear that various forms of activism in the information space will continue to be my path. When I'm not at the computer, I'll mostly be enjoying the company of loved ones or just bumming around. In other words, I have a good sense of my way forward, but the details are hazy.

The high probability of society upheaval in the near future complicates matters. And as the technological transformation of society accelerates, I plan to stay on the cutting edge, which could take me in all kinds of directions. WantToKnow might take off. Rstory might catch on. Something might suddenly happen that drives swarms of new people into the censorship-proof web. I wouldn't mind seeing all three things come to pass.

After this year's headache cycle, there's a part of me that's demanding action to make up for the lost time. The cold need to bring in more money is adding to the pressure. But I'm refusing to act rashly. Instead, I'm trying to just focus on my purpose and what best aligns with it.

Whenever I manage to do this, things usually turn out okay, though the outcome isn't always what I expect. In 2019, when I set out to write ten novels in five years, I knew this was in line with my mission on Earth, but I expected to have more readers as the endeavor progressed. Looking back, despite the unmet expectation, I'm satisfied with how it all turned out. My 10th novel, The Brockton Exodus, is coming out in 2025, and I'm probably a better writer for having written 10 more books.

In truth, I have no idea where I'll be next year. My world is feeling very dynamic right now. This is a little uncomfortable, though I'm trying not to let it stress me out. There are, after all, opportunities in dynamism. The winds of change are good, I'm telling myself.

Inevitably, the things that have happened up until now are necessary preparation for everything to come. My life so far has been extraordinary and I kind of doubt it will suddenly become normal in 2025. My everyday will continue to be conspiracy news, crypto, art, and science fiction. Should be a wild ride.
