Yep, I wear mine. There are some funny pictures over the years of me doing things like pruning bushes and playing piano and cooking with a baby strapped on board. I don't know that I'd be that fond of wearing them since it definitely makes everything more work, but since it keeps the babies quiet and occupied I do it for convenience. I got a Moby-type wrap for the first time with this fourth baby and I'm much happier with it than the Bjorn carrier since it puts a lot less stress on my back and shoulders. My son likes it because he curls into it like he's still inside and will sleep in there for hours if I let him. Fourth trimester...
It may slow you down, but you can do just about anything while wearing baby! Baby girl sleeps super well wrapped against me, too! Haha, yes, totally the fourth trimester!
There's only one thing I've found I don't do while wearing the babies: canning. Until you can wear them on your back. Because it's actually a little frightening handling all the boiling hot stuff with a baby between you and the boiling stuff. Plus if they wriggle at just the right time it can get really disturbing. So they get relegated to the bouncy chair for that kind of thing.
I've also found that as I'm getting older I have to pick my places for baby wearing or my back can get really sore - and also that the soft wraps are important for when the babies are little because the tighter straps on the harness style wraps can cause mastitis (true story...yikes). I'm always so annoyed when I can't just do everything I expect to do, but I am learning I can do a lot more if I'm careful about such details!
Oh, yes, no hot stoves or boiling water! It would also be hard to shower, lol.
Ew, I hadn't thought about tight wraps and mastitis! I guess you just have to learn what works for you personally. :)
