I know that most of you don't have the time to read an entire article, so I have summarised it in one line for you.
If you read it carefully, analyse it and then apply it, it can bring fruitful results in your life.
The technique is: Provide More For Less.
Now if you decide to read it further, pay attention at every line because the article will be compelling at some point, and you will realise that you have observed the technique yourself at some point in your life, but you have missed to apply it in your life.
One common trait of people is that everyone wants to get filthy rich. Everyone wants more and more of everything. But the interesting thing about it is that most of these people want it by doing less.
There is nothing new in this that people want more things, have high expectations for things, but wants to do less. But with high expectations and less work, the result will always be the same, i.e. failure of expectations.
People will get less as they are putting lesser efforts and providing less useful services.
Where you can benefit from all this is, you can make a habit of doing more, providing more and expecting less.
Take a look at the history, people like Henry Ford, Steve Jobs what was their secret?
What was the biggest reason behind their success?
It was that they provided a lot more than people's expectations. And they accomplished more than anyone had ever expected them to be.
Consider a more general example in your life, if you are going for lunch, where would you want to go: a restaurant where you will get more quality food for less money or the one where you will get less quality food for more money.
Naturally, everyone will go to the second one.
Because it is a general trait of the people to want more and to give less.
So if you are a service provider, no matter what you do, you can provide more for less, and you will grow more than your expectations.
This aspect is valid everywhere; people want better clothes at lower prices, bigger houses for less money and anything else you can think of is similar to this trait of human nature.
Everyone wants more but by paying less. An ideal world, no?
If you are a businessman, a freelancer, an artist or even a person with an ordinary job, the secret for your exponential growth could be this and will be this.
Provide more services than anyone expected with lower prices and you will never have to worry about money or work.
A recent example that I have seen in my country is in the telecom industry.
Jio telecoms, a new company, barely two-year-old, outgrown so much on the other telecom industries that some of them have to lower their prices up to 1/10th of their initial rates.
The secret behind so much growth was that Jio provided much more services for far lower prices than anyone else was offering.
As a result, they have the most number of subscribers in the country.
And with such a volume of consumers they are making bigger profits even by charging lower monthly fees.
The idea behind the success has always been the same.
Provide more for less. Everyone will come running to your business/services.
Now let's come to steemit.
Which post would you want to upvote, comment and share?
A post with content that is useful for you and others, but has low payouts, low comments and low upvotes.
Or a post where there is an ordinary content but have hundreds of upvotes and comments.
Quality and useful content will always pull larger number of people than an ordinary content can push through.
Whether it be a relationship, a service or anything else you can think about, the fundamental principle remains same.
When you provide less and expect more, you will decay, but when you start providing more and expect less, you will always grow.
I kinda agree with you, but also not completely. More for less is the principle required in our capitalistic systems we build. More for less, is (when done good) more profit. BUT, there is a limit to growth. And also, fact is more for less means at some point in time, all-you-can-eat propositions, rather than personalised propositions. I predict that people want a more individual approach, and are willing to pay more for it, because the product/service may be personalised and therefore more unique and therefore has a higher value to the consumer. We already see this happening in some segments, like fashion, and wearables. This is were also Apple is profiting from.
Also, I truly believe in becoming successful in anything you do, when money and profits are not the drivers. One needs to be passionated about what you do, everything else will be a result of that passion. Quality of what you provide and do, recognition, and also rewards.
Here at Steemit, I would argue, post less, but more well thought through posts with high levels of value will in the ling run be the way to survive as a user. But that said: In the Ling Run, since in the short run, quality and value is not that much appreciated by many of the Steemians...or maybe appreciated, but at least not rewarded. Looping back to what I mentioned before about Passion: when being passionated about what you do here at Steemit, you can keep going, even when the rewards are not coming to you quickly. But you will see, in the longer run, you will get noticed and rewards increases. BUT, it requires persistence, and persistence requires drive, and drive is given by passion.
The individual approach does miracles in all sorts of businesses.
And I agree that when money is not the driving factor, but passion and interest is, it is best for long run.
I always look for the long run, it is more enjoyable and fruitful.
Well said both of you! I would agree and say that the best way to success is your last sentence edje! Nothing is more rewarded as persistence with your work!
yepp.
Enjoyed it thoroughly. Resteemed and followed you!
Knowledge in and of itself is useless unless you actually use that knowledge or pass the knowledge on to others. It is our duty as human beings that if we know something that can help, even just one person, that we release that knowledge into the universe. Sharing your ideas and know-how may be providing a bridge of unimagined possibilities for one person or be the missing link for a phenomenal breakthrough for another. I feel Steemit also an amazing platform to share our knowledge and skills, our labour and our heart for the betterment of the world and the people you engage here with.
Yes! Which is why the Steemit Platform is so important. It gives us an outlet to share our differing knowledge, skillsets, and experiences with one other. After all, sharing really is caring.
I totally agree with everything you said.
Thanks for resteeming.
Thanks for sharing. When it comes to getting the most out of anything, for me, it all boils down to how much presence I am giving that certain moment/activity. It's not until we fully immerse ourselves in the oceanic depths of the Now, can we get the most out of what we what.
So many people are crippled by the past, or anxious about the future. When all that ever will be, is in the Present.
True, live in the present.
I agree with you but the point is , if you have a idea how can you compete with giants like amazon , google ,apple (the silicon valley's giants ) ??
Well, they didn't become what they are in one day, and however good your idea is, you can't become a multimillionaire in one day.
You have to start it first, let it grow, have persistence, grow yourself with time and then after some time, you can think about comparing your idea with giants.
Basically, you are asking how can an infant win a race with a professional runner.
Everything takes time.
