The world we live in is two-parts exciting, one-part intimidating and seven-parts downright ludicrous. Things change in a matter of days, hours, minutes, seconds even. The whole world seems to be teetering on a meticulously-honed knife's edge, ready for one ill-thought tweet or poorly-times comment to tip our entire lives into a free-fall.
Facing such a world, what can one do but attempt to cling on for dear life. An impossible task, to be frank, yet one every person with even an inkling of a care for what goes on around them should at least attempt to do. Yet how does one even go about trying to clutch at the coat-tails of life as it whips past you with barely a second's glance?
The only answer that I've found is to read. Voraciously. Fill your mind with new stories, news and happenings. Learn what is going on all a round this big, beautiful planet of ours. We are blessed to live in the age of technology and instant gratification. Everything we need is right at our fingertips, ready to obey our every command.
If you don't like reading, listen. Audio-books, podcasts, even Youtube videos can provide you with everything you need. One can ill afford to be ignorant of the world around them, especially with the force of globalization changing the way we live. Take an interest in your own life, and the lives of others. See the forces that are shaping our future, and try and learn your place among this sea of change and innovation.
Our tomorrows will be unlike anything we could fathom today, so give yourself the best chance of making that future more believable, or even less scary, and read.

Great! I feel like I am in a different world when I read. It's such an important escape for me.
