RE: How much time do you spend on screens?

in #life • 6 years ago

Take your time dude, the content isn't going anywhere and the blockchain is here to stay 😛 Plus, I have assignments that require me to run a blog for assignment purposes as well as all those engaging with classmates within the blogging platform...so updates here will go a little slower. I'm still trying to get at least 2 posts up per week though, but that's not fast at all, hehe.

You're indeed pretty lucky to have near-perfect eyesight until now...not sure if there's something to do with the gene, but some peeps really don't need eyeglasses for life while some has their degree of shortsightedness flying like a rocket throughout their entire teenage years. I guess I'm quite lucky to have it stuck at some not-too-serious value, too. I don't want to spend too much on glasses 😂

Actually most night light filters aren't really effective, unless you're using something like flux on the PC and Twilight on phones (and only if the phone is using a pretty old version of Android, it does not work very well on new ones due to Android limitations). My night filter is set to kick in at 7pm and it's a pretty strong one, plus my wallpaper...uh, it's really warm. From what I feel, it doesn't really reduce the strain but it will help with sleeping if you have to use the PC before sleeping. So, still promoting rest as well :3

I actually use light theme for my desktop lol. The dark parts are the window title bars and the bottom panel as well as Firefox because most websites do not have a dark theme. I tried going dark mode for everything but it didn't end well because everything looks like blending into each other with similar colours. Personally I prefer more contrast than the actual colour theme because contrast is what determines if your eyes can read the content easily and reduce strain as an effect, but please do not show me a colour theme that goes like blue background with yellow text...I would dump a pile of Yellow Pages right in their face if someone did, lol.

Actually technology is already helping a lot in reducing eye strain and overall eye damage when facing screens. LED screens are emitting pretty low level of radiation compared to their old friends in the past; high screen resolutions prevented our eyes from trying to analyze the squares of the pixels, hence reducing strain as well; and screens that come with anti-glare features are just helping even more. As we reach higher and higher screen DPI, the scientists will find ways to reduce light spots more and more efficiently and it will reduce whatever pain your eyes feel when facing white screens...iPads already have this as an accessibility feature, but I treat it as a power saving feature, lol.

You are addicted to circles and bubbles? Now I feel bad for showing some osu! videos in the past, maybe I'll just hope that you don't get what I'm saying and ignore it, hehe, although you might have watched the Cytus vids I uploaded a few posts before this one...
