I don't blame you for your initial reaction you had about moving out. It is a very big decision and you made it in one piece. that's an accomplishment to be proud of ✅
Finding a community in whom you can trust is a very valuable thing I would say, and the children are adjusting quite well. So good things are happening.

But six weeks for internet, that's just insane!

    Yes, it was a big deal! And so glad that we found a great group here. The kids really love that they can play outside pretty much every day. Even in rainy season, they can play in the rain because it isn't really that cold! Yes, internet was an issue because of conflicting information from the internet company we were trying to use. After we switched to another one, it went quickly. ;)
