January 19 is a great holiday - the Baptism of the Lord. On this day, according to the Bible, Jesus Christ was baptized in the Jordan River. And as the legend says, once a year all the water in the world becomes sacred and miraculous. In the Dnieper on the Embankment a temple was built in honor of St. John the Baptist and a special arena for swimming was made near the temple. After the consecration of the water, everyone wishing to receive a charge of vivacity and health plunged into the waters of the Dnieper.
19 января - Крещение Господне.
19 января большой праздник - Крещение Господне. В этот день по Библии Иисус Христос принял крещение в реке Иордан. И как гласит предание раз в году вся вода в мире становится священной и чудотворной. В Днепре на Набережной построили Храм в честь Св. Иоанна Крестителя и возле храма сделано специальный манеж для купания. После освящения воды все желающие получить заряд бодрости и здоровья окунулись в воды Днепра.
