Last February 1, 2018 my Instructor (@marbul21) opened a topic about future jobs and how Automation will affect us since we will be the future generation of workers in this society. In this topic we will be taking about the future jobs of the humans; how automation will affect human jobs, and what will be the future education be like.
People in the past have been displaced by machines over many jobs, and over time we focus on learning skills and selecting careers that consider the new technological change. It teaches to learn what is best to complement with machines For example, farmers learns to drive the tractors that have replaced their manual work in the field. And many people are no longer working in the farm, they are now working on more skilled labor positions, or retail, or professional services, or any work that is not taken away by tractors and robots.
This process is not new to us. It is always happening from one degree to another. These stories seem to ignore is how robots will affect the human capital production function. In the scenario where many humans lack the skills to work in a complementary way with AI, we must remember that artificial intelligence will be training humans much better than humans are trained now. The classroom today is not always like it was 100 years ago. Surely if AI and robots are going to be altering enough industries to cause mass unemployment, then this will include k-12 and college.
AI can monitor human progress much much better than a professor can, and they can optimally modify the curriculum and instruction method for the students to help them achieve their highest potential. Thus making humans most complementary with robots. Or fills the places that robots can’t work on.
If AI can do better than any humans can do, that will also include AI educating humans to make humans reach their maximum potential. What would be the work of the future humans? What would it be like to be working on a full automated workplace?
