How Did Living in China Change My View of the USA

in #life7 years ago

Hey Laowinners!

When you move abroad, especially to China, you start to change. Your expectations of China and your home country, in my case, the USA change drastically. Stepping outside of where you come from allows you to see things from other perspectives. Global opinions may be very different from the ones you have, and in China this is most certainly the case.

C-Milk, let me give you some advice:

  1. Don't repost your old videos and expect large upvotes. High value accounts (whales) know that lots of people here post their old youtube videos/blogs and as a result, most will check to make sure this isn't some old video from months ago. Your blog/video description looks like it was copied and pasted so they will notice that too.
  2. Don't post your videos on DLive and DTube. That makes you look spammy and whales will notice that. The exact same video shows up twice on people's feeds. Not a good practice.
  3. Make content specific to DTube OR DLive. The owners of those platforms have lots of Steem Power and can give you large upvotes if they come across your video (both accounts are highly active in curating content) but if they see that you also posted it on the other video site, they will probably refrain from upvoting you cause you are spamming.
  4. The Steem blockchain values fresh/new content. Posting videos that can easily be found on YouTube from months ago isn't going to cut it. Instead, only post new videos. Ideally, you should post videos on DLive/DTube before you post them on YouTube.
  5. Make an introduction video (or all future videos) geared towards DLive or DTube. You could first start by making a video introducing yourself and say something like "Hey DLive, my name is Matthew aka. laowhy86 from YouTube and I am really interested in getting involved in this new community... etc. etc." In the future, you could also make videos exclusive to DLive or DTube and that will help you tremendously. People here want to see that you are contributing. They don't want to support some guy whose well-known on YouTube that is basically using Steemit as a place to dump old videos and rake in cash. Furious Pete and the Hodgetwins already joined Steemit/DTube prior and both of them are let downs so far. Initially, whales supported them and they earned a nice chunk of money but then people noticed that they weren't really contributing or upvoting others. They won't even tell their YouTube audience about this site.

If you have anymore questions, you can message me on WeChat. I am in the SMCC group (Kenan) and I have sent you messages on WeChat in the past.

Hope that helps!

Awesome, thanks for the tips! I actually had advice from people that kept telling me to post my old videos here, so what I will do from now on is post it here first. Thanks so much for all the help!
