We have a social responsibility and a moral obligation to indulge in fair trade chocolate....starting NOW!
Whenever we bite into a piece of delicious chocolate or drink a cup of our morning brew, we have a choice. The simple choice of what kind chocolate we eat, or what brand of coffee we drink can really make an impact in this world. Choosing a fair trade product can truly make a difference between life or death for some of the world's poorest farmers and their families. In addition 2.3 million children are forced to work in the cocoa fields of Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire alone.
The information is readily available to anyone who wants to take the time to research it, but my purpose for this short article was to bring awareness. If I can encourage just ONE person today to make the decision to research the subject or to buy fair trade, I will be a happy camper :)
