How To Make Money With A Blog..

in #life7 years ago

My  focus on blogs is not only that blogs are currently the number one method used for a Niche site, but also probably the easiest and most powerful way for newbie´s to get started very quickly indeed.

So, today your about to learn strategies and formulas to create a powerful ranking blog so that you can make money, as well as be shown very simply how this it all possible.

First, I want you to abandon most of what you´ve been told when it comes to how to make money online and have  even learned from others. The reason I ask you to do this, is because one of the main reasons inexperienced people who are looking to start their own online business have a hard time, is the amount of information out there. Much of which is ill founded and completely misguided.

You see in reality what happens is that people get overloaded with information, and do not have a clue where and how to actually get started.

Some tell you that you need a huge site with tons of pages, others say you need hundreds of backlinks pointing to your page, and then there´s all the Guru´s out there who say they all have the “ultimate system for making money online”. These usually consist of some type of “special software” needed, or some method that dominates Google, Clickbank, Amazon and so the list goes on all culminating in a promise that you will make money online and most of it is complete nonsense.

So, today I want you to put that all aside for a little while and just concentrate on a few of the absolute basics.

When creating and launching a simple but very powerful site, you rarely need more than a 5 – 15 pages, not including your blog (which is essential).

You do NOT need more than a dozen quality back-links.

Now here´s what you DO need to create a powerful money making blog very quickly…

1.) You Need To Find A Good Niche that´s unique enough to have only a little competition and  yet has generous amount of daily, weekly or monthly searches. (I’ll come back to this later)

2.) You now need a “Key-worded Domain name.” That is a domain name which matches the relevance of your blog or as close as possible to your main niche keyword you´ve chosen.

If you are starting with a free blog such as  Wordpress, which this blog is built upon, then when you originally sign up the  username you choose will be the domain name as a sub domain with wordpress.org at the end. So choose your main niche keyword as the username. (or again, as close as possible).

3.) Next, you should set up your site  correctly from the beginning. The main important part is the structure of the site and the way it´s linked together. (More on that later).

4.) You need rich, relevant, congruent content. However, since this site is for the purpose of making sales, the content will consist of articles written to educate your followers/readers about  what you have to offer. Additionally you should also provide your viewers with useful help and tips. However, do remember that you only need 3-5 of these pages to accomplish this.

The first page of course is your Home/Index page. This will be the longest in order to introduce your site as well as start explaining your site’s purpose in an article type format.

You should then directly link that page to the next one, just continuing to explain your site and it´s benefits. Just avoid at all costs from making it look like a sales letter and place your focus on ensuring it is more like an educational article.

You should continue the exact same thing with the following pages until you´ve explained your site and its primary purpose. This usually is never more than 4 pages (at the absolute most), including the home page.

The next page to follow after the previous “information pages’ is a Pre-sales page. This is simply  a page that still looks like a info or article page, but is really there to review just the main points and benefits you provide if your reader takes action including buying your product or service.

So it´s purpose is to subtly let your reader know how much easier things would be if they obtained your report, since you offer them a vast array of  benefits and have done all the hard work already for them.

Your next and last main page is the sales page. Since its for sales you don´t need to bother with links.

You link your blog to your site in the usual way via the menu, but do be absolutely  sure it´s a Nofollow link. The links that link From your blog, TO your site pages are Follow links. And there is a significant difference.

Do Not put tons of articles on your blog! This is not the correct use of a true blog. A Blog is (and was always intended) an extension of your site where people can read updates, get tips and post questions and comments.

Once or maybe twice a week at most write an article that´s specific and meaningful to your site. Then promote people to leave questions or comments that are legitimate and really are excellent quality.

Let them know you would be more than happy to give them a link to their site, as long as they follow those guidelines.

Doing it in this way is best for a mini-niche site, since the blog is NOT the focus here. Your blog is to keep contact, offer valuable information and updates and accept postings that the search engine spiders pick up every time your blog is pinged.

Once your site and blog have good rankings with all the major search engines, you can do more with your blog which will help you accelerate your success as you make money working online and this includes offering other products from other people you “recommend”. You can use Google adsence on certain pages that have a high readership, and you can leverage your blog in many other ways and I’ll go into more depth to explain these strategies in the coming  days and weeks.

What I still find quite staggering is that  with all the information online and in reports about niches and keywords, many many people still do not understand how to use the proper keywords and phrases that bring in targeted traffic that result in sales.

For Instance… Do you really think having the top ranking for the term “credit cards’ will make you money? If you do and your stuck on that belief, then you’re in for a long and unprofitable journey. This is high traffic keyword, but it is not a high quality long tail keyword that has people searching for it ready to part with their money.

The fact is, that while the keyword term “credit cards” is a dominant term and by itself gets a lot of searches, it is NOT itself a profitable keyword. Here´s why…

For starters, it´s just very very competitive and you will find it extremely difficult to get onto page one and then position one of the major search engines. Next, it´s a general term and non descriptive. “Credit cards” is usually the first thing typed in the search engine in order to Start the Search For What Type Of Credit Card They Are Really Looking for.

So in contrast then, what WOULD be an example of a profitable search term in the credit cards topic? How about… “the best APR credit card”  And here´s a crucial key… It´s very easy to rank that term and it really does get a lot of traffic.

You Need a niche that has good  search volumes. You then refine your keyword phrase by putting it in a question or specific statement form. Example: The Niche- “credit cards” Here´s a Refined Version: “the best credit cards for small business”.

NEXT: You get a domain name in that keywords phrase. Here´s what you want: www.thebestcreditcardsforsmallbusiness.com

*NOTE*  You do NOT need a huge site with hundreds or thousands of pages to get rankings. This is major reason for using a blog on our site in the first place.

Blogs by nature are really a group of postings that are connected to the occasional article  that´s put up.

The purpose is to put up a quality article that would gather attention and result in postings by interested readers. Not only would this get a following of loyal readers but also help your rankings by a post being “pinged” every time a new article is added or commented on.

This also results in traffic, which is the life blood of making our sales. Of course, what helps deliver traffic from rankings is the linking structure and links.
