What a fantastic piece to read. Thanks for that! I would like to emphasise one part.
Population dynamics in the world and the pace of innovation are driving growth. This economic growth is almost a necessity, independent of the performance of individuals, companies or even countries.
If we want to predict the future, I think we have to take into account the fact that economic growth is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve, due to declining productivity increases, the saturation of markets and environmental degradation. If the current trends continue, we may even no longer have any growth in Europe within ten years. In my opinion, the 'post-growth movement' will become stronger and stronger. It is time for an economy in which economic growth is no longer central. Today we are crossing multiple safe environmental limits of our planet, and it is clear that economic activities can not be sufficiently disconnected from resource use or pollution.
