In a series tracking the life and work of medical residents in my country - the experience of being sedated was described like a sensation of complete calmness and dis-attachment. some of the patients even described it as a fascinating adventure, enjoyable to some rate.

The sedation of the poor Brooklyn looks like a moderate one - but I do hope she experienced some of the calmness people described, and that she had some nice dreams - maybe she imaged some large steak in the corner and she just kept licking it, enjoying herself all the while :)

Fast recovery to your sweet dog - may she run merrily in the streets again, and give her a nice chop of food so her dream during the operation will come true ;)

Glad to hear Brooklyn is okay. Looks very happy and playful at the bottom! Maybe one day we can play together 🐶🐾

With that post title, @kevinwong, I expected a technical piece on urban development :) Pleasantly, surprised to meet your puppy, instead, and could feel the fondness you had for him. As the Sufis say (Muslim mystics) 'If you want to learn how to love, love a dog.'

I'm a bird man myself (pigeons, parrots, ducks, peacocks, you name it...) and 3/4 mad for my feathered friends :) Good to know you a little better, through Broooklyn, and wishing you both many happy years together!

Cheers, Yahia

Never heard of the saying before, thanks! It's interesting given that I thought the Muslim culture would likely have cats instead.

It's funny, and difficult to generalize, but some Muslims (literalists, largely) tend to be wary of dogs, considering them unclean and citing holy text to justify this bias. But, Sufis are another story altogether (and in turn are regarded, perhaps, with even more suspicion than dogs by ultra-conservative Muslims :)

Also, by association, I now recall your desert tale of the many wives, which I found ticklish and don't think I ever got round to telling you so ;)

Did someone say ducks? 🤨😠🐶🐾

Hi @kevinwong Dogs tend to hurt their nails like that sometimes when it gets too long. They just have to move around more so that it will rub against the floor for a natural nail clipping reduction.

My thinking exactly! When he said this:

non-invasive, preventative measures on the other nails

What I think he meant was that the vet trimmed his doggo's nails!

Wish him be good fast and run like a free dog!

Aww brother I feel your pain as they are like children to us! "Don't eat the brown ACID people!" I'm glad you chose to sedate. I think it made it much easier on both parties. So I'm interested in your near death experience? Have you ever done a post on it? If so point in the right direction? "Just floating in a dreamlike state?" We're you out of body? More my man........ Glad the pup is better. You're a good Dad.

I can feel the pain ......this happened with me once ....wishing him speedy recovery

Get well soon! Brooklyn has the cutest smile I have ever seen :)

cutest.JPG

How about my little girl?

rex.JPG

All the best.

Lol looked like a cat at first!

Lol, it was interesting. People usually say she is very big and scary but she is so docile and acting like human :)

Cute doggo 🐶🐾

Jesus, how did it even happen. Of course, sedate, I'd rather die than look at puppy suffering((
Wish him to recover soon.

Ouch! But hey, his countenance really brightened up at the last pic! He looks like he was smiling already. Feel better soon, Brooklyn :)

Well-described emotions, I can tell that you really care for Brooklyn (cool name, BTW). I would go for the sedation option too. He looks so happy and smiling on the last photo! ^_^

Cheers! : )

I kept feeling the pain all night.

Ohh dear... That's soo sad.. I can imagine how it'll feel when your pet is in pain..it'll be difficult to even manage to sleep.

After re-calibrating himself into reality after an hour or so, Brooklyn is now back in action!

Alas, it's good Brooklyn is finally back on his feet.
I'm sure he missed being this active..

Steem on!!

Beautiful dog so sorry you have to experience such pains, Thank God Brooklyn is back in action. wishing him quick recovery

Wooow lovely puppy, I love the communication between the two of you @kevinwong and Brooklyn and also the way you take care of Brooklyn nice one 👍

I'm glad he's ok now, you guys seem to have a strong connection.
Human surgery and anesthesia is even more intense and emotionally draining unfortunately.
Anyway, I don't want to be a debbie downer :). I'm looking forward to your usual lighthearted posts. Cheers !

Get well soon. I'm sorry for your dog. hope will recover in a short time and you will have fun playing together again. I thank you for being an animal lover. @kevinwong

The last picture is the most importent one, glad to see him smile, the changing face from sad to happy is the most relaxing feeling that u can get.

I've heard of window lickin', but metallic table licking, that's a new one!

Brooklyn looked trashed during the sedation medicine, but looks a lot chirpier now. Nice one!

He's such a beautiful boy and you have a lovely connection there.

Hopefully, there won't be a next time. However if there is, put some manuka honey on the wound and bandage it as best you can.

Brooklyn's saliva would have been cleansing but the manuka honey has exceptional antibacterial and wound healing properties. Needs to be PURE and the highest strength. 🦋

I've heard of manuka honey on a few occasions. Thanks! Will keep an eye out if there's any around :)

I know how it feels for your pet to be sick, mine was sick sometime like that, couldn't walk, couldn't i felt guilty for not being able to take care of him ....met his doctor and he wa given injection, few days he was up amd bouncing again, so i know de joy i felt and how u feel right now too, glad Brooklyn is fine now...

owwwwwww, such a cutie! Wish him a fast recovery <3

You're a dog lover too!

I have three and they are like my children, especially my oldest one, Charlie Buttons. He is eleven.

It is weird having these little guys and feeling their pain and loving them so much.

One my others, Tink, constantly has trouble with her nails. She isn't a digger like the other two and they get long really fast. She hates getting them clipped but if I don't do it, we have this problem.

I wish your fur child Brooklyn a speedy recovery.

Thanks for taking good care of your dog. Too many have a bad life.

Keep Steeming!

i am a dog lover as well

sadly... to see your dog get sick, but hopefully, he will get well soon and see his tail - wagging :)

It is an intense feeling of helplessness when we see our loved ones in pain and we can not do anything to appease the pain.

I used to have a Labrador once, he got sick.

The doctors could not save him. And I saw my childhood best friend die in front of me.

It is one of the worst memories of my childhood because he didn't die in a day, but he was sick for over a month and died slowly.

I felt the same helplessness that I am feeling now seeing this cute dog in pain.

So after that incident, I decided not have a dog again because I could not take the pain of detachment again.

Gosh sorry to hear that. I guess it's soemthing that i'll go through as well.

I know what you feel. The pain for seeing your dog not being himself and not understandin what's happening.
I felt the same when I had my doggy neutered

My first reaction to the nail picture... oh shit...

Wish him speedy recovery and great to see him smiling away happily at the last pic.

Hope he recovers quickly. Our animal friends deserve the best care

Was expecting a crypto post but got something far from that. Not complaining though. That's one of the things I love about this blog post. It's always a trivial injury that hurts the most, in this case, the dog's nail.

What I've noticed is that if I thump my toe against the edge of my desk, it hurts like hell and I'll be screaming my head off. On the other hand, if I, say, fractured my leg or got banged in the head by a soccer ball, it'll hurt, of course, but you're less of a cry baby compared to just thumping your accidentally, even though the injury is supposedly more severe.

WIshing Brooklyn a speedy recovery. He sure deserves it!

Its always hard when your beloved furry one is lying on one of those stainless steel tables looking up at you with imploring eyes, "Get me the F*ck out of here!". I had to go through that when my cat was hit by a car.

Then again, Brooklyn found something else to distract himself with on that table. ;-)

I hope Brooklyn is making a speedy recovery.

It wasn't over. Still had to deal with the vomiting! But all good now lol :)

The things we go through for our furry friends/children. Good to hear. =)

My roommate's cat had terrible fleas and it took a few days for it to be taken to the vet, I felt similar watching her scratching all of her rashy skin all day, clearly so uncomfortable. Its like "DAMNIT I wanna fix this right now noooo"

Glad to hear your dog is doing better Kev!

ooh noo i get sooo teary when i see animals in pain or sad!! im soo glad he is ok :))!!! btw very beautiful !!!!

Even I just looked at the pictures, I could feel the pain both of you had. I know how you feel Kevin. My dogs went through something like this before. Take some rest and take good care of Brookyln too. Get well soon Brookyln <3

Aawwww poor thing! Dogs always try to stay 'tough', but it's a good thing you noticed something was wrong!
I can imagine a pet dog is just like having a kid and it's so hard to see your children get sedated. It makes you feel so helpless.
Glad to hear Brooklyn is back in action! Probably lots of tail wagging coming up ;)

Lol these days during gathering with friends, everyone's carrying a human child, except me .. :p

Don't worry good things will manifest at right time.

Have a great day and stay blessed.

Oh dear, poor Brooklyn. My dog, Fei Fei experienced the exact same thing lately. His condition was worse as blood was all over the floor. I was trying to bandage it so that it stops bleeding, but it doesn't. Blood was all over the bandage.

I brought him to the vet and once the doctor took off the bandage, the blood starts dropping..and dropping, non-stop. I was so distressed looking at that.

The doctor decided to inject him to stop the bleed. And wrap it up again. He still bleeds a little when he got home, but was alright after taking some medicine. I'm so glad that he's ok now, and I never want this to happen to him again.

Fei Pain.jpeg
His right foot was still in pain after the bandage was taken off the next day

Damn that's a bummer, hope he feels better soon!! Sharp looking dog, im sure he makes you really happy. :).

thanks @gre3n, still have to deal with medicinal side effects, but looks fine now!

scary stuff, my brothers dog went through something few months ago, was playing around with another dog and his tooth got caught in the other dogs collar, lets say the tooth didn't stay in the dogs mouth, wasn't a cheap procedure either but worth every penny. Its amazing what they can do for animals now these days. Have a good day @kevinwong, glad to hear your dog is doing better! the medicine can be rough but usually short term? how long does he have to take it

Oh.my.gwd... your dog is so cute!!!! but super kesian that he was hurt. I have two dogs and whenever they're in pain or uncomfortable in anyway, i'll feel hurt too. again, your dog is super adorbs <3 @kevinwong

Sedation was definitely the right call! What a touching story. He looked a pretty happy after the sedation cocktail. I love the photo where he's licking the metal table while turning his back legs up. I'm the type guy where the dog is part of the family and it always breaks my hart when my dog isn't feeling well. Glad to see there's a happy ending with the little guy.

Dogs are great pets to have around, a friend actually, so I can understand your anxiety and anguish concerning Brooklyn's condition. But we are happy to have him back.

I'm glad to see you love animals. May the puppy heal quickly, and can play happily @ kevinwong. Best regards...

thanks @zamzamiali :)

Ur welcome Mr. @kevinwong. Have a nice day.

It is nice that puppy's feels comfortable and happy Will be better in the coming days

Feel better soon Brooklyn.
and
Nice work ( Post payout to be donated to @communitycoin.)

My god I was reading with the hope everything will be fine in the end, and I’m so happy it is!I seriously can’t imagine my life without my monkey, my friend, my little daughter a fluff ball Happy.I wish Brooklyn to get well soon and a long carefree and happy life😊🤗

man, your dog is a cutey! :) brooklyn is a cool name too! hope he recovers real quick.

Seeing a dog in pain breaks my heart into a billion tiny pieces. Wishing him a speedy recovery. 💪

At least from the last picture, he looks happy.
So he should be back to normal soon

Dogs are people too! Stay healthy, young pup!

get well soon Brooklyn.

Sad to see that Brooklyn had damaged one of his nails pretty badly. I could feel the pain being emitted from that spot. Sad to see how down beat he was but seeing the end photo but a smile on my face.

Soooo adoooraaable! Just look at those eyes and that smile, that is all I have to say. I'm glad they are recovering from the drugs and the injury! :)

Also @kevinwong, I couldn't leave without saying thank you for your recent support with my content. It is always amazing to great surprises like that after returning from work. Thank you so much! <3

You should write a post about your near-death experience Kev! I love coming out of (and going into) narcosis, I mean not literally cause it means that something is f.cked up, but the drugs are pretty cool when then kick in, and before they completely wear off :D

Hello Kevin!

Hope you liked it.
Cheers!

Lol thanks, and you picked a quote that I thought was quote-worthy xD

Glad you liked it Kevin! I agree with the quote... as right as they come :D

Cute pooch!! It's so sad when dogs are in pain. It breaks my heart every time my dog even lets out a whimper. Which is constantly, because he's so spoiled :)
