Against the birds

In some places here (Aceh, Sumatra), birds, especially sparrows, become a significant pest for rice farmers. Vainly drove them away with the scarecrow or with the sounds. Sparrows with large herds rush into rice fields, and can cause huge losses.

But the peasants do not want to be defeated by this challenge. They observe and think, and finally find the technique as you see in these pictures. They spread nylon threads so that the birds could not come near, and this fight seemed to have been won by humans, without having to hurt the birds.
