THE LIFE OF A STREET BOY

in #life7 years ago

Flipping through my past, I remember this saying "that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favour to the men of skill but time and chance happen to all of them. What really differentiates a person from another is time because time is the processor of men. I've discovered that many things have actually happened in this my short stay on planet earth and each phase that passes by left me with its lesson. Just know that your getting there is a matter of time.

My growing up has not been a bed of roses, but actually, i've gotten much out of life. At every stage of life, the lesson of life always glaring on me, no matter where I am, there are always better things ahead of me. Always keep in your heart that the life you live is always for yourself. Please don't get me wrong here and become selfish in all your dealings with people. Nobody will always want the best for you instead people will make sure that you don't get the best out of life.
Winning in life does not mean that you are fast like many would say, there is an adage that says "the patience dog eat the fastest bone", you may be fast and overshoot your shadow!!! LOL. Don't get me wrong, you can be fast but that guarantee your success in life. You don't win the battle of life because you are strong. If your approach is wrong, you will get the wrong result! Wisdom won't guarantee that you won't be hungry, I heard of wise fools.
The life of a street boy is a life that picks up each opportunity that comes to his ways and runs with it, not someone that will stay at the comfort of his father house to boast of what the father owns.
These are the few lessons that I learned from the street:
1)You are responsible for yourself, your life and your future
2)Nobody owes you anything in life even your parent, you got to survive in the street anyhow and work out your life in the street
3)Everybody is a suspect: Never believe anybody on the street until it is proven
4)You are not answerable to anybody.
5)It the life in the street is the survival of the fittest.
Here in the street, you can mature fast because there is no time for dulling. When you are dealt with a blow, you will grow fast because you can't beat them in their game they originate it.Street life in Nigeria can be a hard time but it worth it because when the time comes if you really believe in yourself, you will actually get to the top. When you don't how to tread in the street, you become a victim and a misfit in life. Life always presents us with an opportunity to make choices and if you choose to remain in the street, you die a nobody but if your mind is open to opportunity, you get to the top.
Here are the reasons why many street boys got stuck in life:

  1. No plan for the future
    2)Bad friends
    3)Refusing to accept responsibility
    4)lack of personal development
    5)Always wanting to fit in
    6)Pride and arrogance.
I believe the next time you have an opportunity to meet with the street boy, you will be able to help him out and give him a direction in life.

Thank you sir

There is one thing I've really noticed in this post..... Every line of this post portrays survival at all cost.... For me, what I've learnt is to inculcate a success-inclined mindset.... BUT, you are answerable to God... Remember, you will give account of your times on earth at last

Thanks for going through my blog and also helping me to see the big picture. Survive at all cost but know it will always be God.

Only those that grew in the street understands the other part of life. We rep the street and we made it.
