I'm surprised by how many people don't know how harmful everyday products can be. You think that because they are on a store shelf that they are safe to use for their intended purpose, but unfortunately that couldn't be further from the truth.
Many products are filled with harmful and unnecessary chemicals. These chemicals don't help you; They hurt you.
You may think because body washes, Lotions, etc. are applied on the outside of your body that it makes them safe, But it doesn't.
Almost everything that touches your skin is absorbed by your skin, That is why it's important to be careful on what you put in contact with your body. Many of these chemicals can mess up your endocrine system, Which can help you gain weight. Also, they can affect your hormones.

What are some alternatives?
What I love about the alternatives, Is that there are a surprising amount of choices.
You can even make a lot of stuff yourself.
- Most of it is CHEAPER, Then your typical at the store purchase.
- Better for the environment.
- Many alternatives don't test on animals.
- Easy and Minimal. You can use the same 3-4 ingredients for all of your household necessities.
HomeMade Stuff!
White Vinegar
I love this stuff; you can eat it! But it also works great for cleaning.
White vinegar can kill mold, bacteria, and germs because of it's high acidity level!
It's also very cheap, you can buy it by the gallon and dilute it with water, Don't like the smell? Add a couple drops of your favorite essential oil for better results.
Baking Soda
Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda with som water, You can also use some washing soda or Borax. The paste is perfect for deep cleaning showers, and other build up.
You can even mix vinegar and baking soda together to clean drains and other hard to reach areas, I use this for my rabbit's litter boxes to get them nice and clean. I rinse with water afterward. Rabbits don't like the smell. haha.
Lemon Juice
You can also mix this with the ingredients above. Lemon Juice will help whiten your environment, Just be careful Lemon juice can sometimes work like bleach on clothing.
Olive Oil
This works great as polish on wood and metal.
If you like those Lemon Oil products or orange products, Add some essential oil to get a similar smell.
Hydrogen Peroxide
This has been my new favorite lately. It's a natural Antibacterial and Antiviral agent. If you spray and wait, You'll get nice results. It will whiten your shower, And it will whiten that nasty grout that sometimes discolors with time. It's also nice for period or grass stains, Just be careful to not get it on any colored clothes, like lemon juice. It can act as a bleach.
Salt!
Perfect for anything that needs a good scrub. Salt, Is cheap and nontoxic. You can use it for almost anything, From eating to bathing. It's fantastic.
Living Naturally definitely is cheaper sometimes. By cleaning naturally not only do you save money, and do the environment a favor, But it's also better for your body overall.

What's worst is the chronic use of those chemicals. I was recently reading about how harmful the antibacterial gel is for your hands. It does kill pretty much all the bacteria, including the good bacteria you need for defense.
yikes! Thats a good one! I'm glad I don't use those antibacterial gels anymore.
trying to more often implement them but for some items its hard to find
Agreed! I think we should all just do the best we can to eliminate those chemicals. It should add up.
I use all the natural in ingredients as well. I stock up on them from Costco and use it to clean my entire house. I have kids so it's important for me to make sure I use only safe products!
Love that!! I need to go to Costco more.
It's also nice for kids if they happen to eat the natural stuff, It shouldn't hurt them!!
