When @stellabelle was talking about Steemit on Facebook...
I thought she was crazy!
Later I decided to give it a "chance".
And joined.
When we got our first payout on July 4, 2016.
I remember almost falling to the floor in shock.
That's when Everyone on facebook thought I was crazy, Talking about Steemit nonstop.
Here I could express myself fully. Post my silly doodles, Thoughts.
Steemit gave me the resources I needed to quit my job, To travel, Get a car and a computer. Everything I've needed.
I've made friends all around the world and have been able to read about so many cool experiences others have had.
I've learned new life lessons and have been able to change my thinking, from the standard "Conventional" way of life.
I Felt Stuck
Before Steemit, I somewhat felt stuck. I was starting to gain that sense of freedom from starting my buisiness while holding down multiple jobs.
But I was really scared that I would be one of those people constantly just paying bills for boring stuff like a house, a car, And just living paycheck to paycheck working a job that I hated.
I saw no other way.
Steemit helped show me that there are more lifestyles than that. And I really can have what I want out of life. Steemit gave me the confidence to try out crazy things, Like quitting my job. To see if I can make it workout.
The price going up is only the start. I believe in Steemit and always have ;) Soon everyone will know what Steemit is.

I know the feeling of feeling stuck or getting nowhere, without Steemit anyway! When I initially looked at mining Steem and found Steemit, I started talking about it and found a couple in my classes who had started already, so I signed up and got myself rolling.
Like you it has helped so much, getting the new PC as one, having a bunch of spare money to help live off or as a backup if I ever need it is another. Steem and Steemit will keep going up and up and I too wish to eventually not need a job. Hehe ;)
You're the one that got me to sign up for an account. I have no clue how I met you, but I was one of the people on Facebook that thought you were insane until I started seeing how well you were doing. I'm sure I won't come close to being as successful as you are, but I at least hope to enjoy myself
I think you'll not get mad as time goes-by because that's what steemit is all about! It will make news yourself in that small village @melcollins. I also don't remember how I met @kaylinart but @jaraumoses remembers! You're making them go crazy! Uganda loves!
Great post!! I posted a handful of times in my first year as I didn't really "get it", however a few of my friends are on here and have had similar experiences to you :)
This year I have decided to make a post everyday even if it's just a quick thought or picture, it's a way to express myself just as you have said and I'm feeling great about it already.

Find myself in a similar situation recently. After graduating from a dead end degree in the summer, I spoke to an old friend for the first time in about two years and he told me about steemit. I've been able to post about my travels, save for future travels, meet new friends and have a general motivation for the first time in a while. Holding various coins and learning about crypto has been refreshing too. It was really nice to read your post.

My major Steemit goal for 2018 is a gigantic one and that is buy myself a car....!!!
I have dreamed and wanted to buy myself a car for almost 2 fuckin years but shit has been hard.
I am 6 months on Steemit and am seeing a big ray of hope of me buying that long awaited car.

Steemit is truly freedom
Registered my steemit account may last year but I left cause saw what I would call a greener pasture in gambling but after two months I almost went bankrupt and I came back to steemit and ever since the land has been green.

Congratulations on all your success. I just came back from an 11 day vacation during which I had no access to Steemit. I was shocked but pleased to see that the value of my account had approximately doubled during this period!

I also feel forever greatful for finding Steemit ! I was also introduced to Steemit in a similar manner as yourself. I think many have been. But I think 99 percent didn't go through with it and really check out Steemit. I'm very glad we are in that other 1 percent category:)

Yes, Steemit is great platform but I am worrying about sustainability of Steemit. I have no clear idea about it. Please @kaylinart share your views for me.
You are cashing out a lot of money from Steemit, @freedom might think that you are costing more than the value you add to the platform. You are always posting the same charts with almost no new value each day. Those posts are generating a lot of money because you are on auto vote by some whales. I tried posting technical analysis and the real payout should be 1 to 3 USD per post, like what i'm getting, and not 500 USD. That's why you are getting down voted and I agree with @freedom we should up vote people who are totally invested in the community and add tremendous value only

My goals for Steemit this year entail becoming an influencer of massive value to entrepreneurs and aspiring dreamers like yourself. Thank you so much for sharing your story and I can’t wait to share how Steemit has changed my life. I remember starting and my account worth a penny... a couple of posts later and I’m almost at $11. "Steemit Is Freedom!" I agree your title. Because It collects people from different religions, languages, races, countries and geography. And you can freely share your opinions and comments and make money from it.(of course we do it in a respectful manner)

I’m glad to see some actual, real-life people such as yourself making some side income from Steemit. It really shows that the model of actually paying folks for the content they create generates better content. I have seen many blogs on here that are scams - that have basically created multiple accounts to like their own content. I look at those accounts as pump and dumps. They aren’t in it for the long haul. I’m grateful to find blogs such as yours that are sincere and not here just to make a buck - but to change their lifestyle. I have tried so many things to get out of the rat race you briefly mentioned living paycheck to paycheck. But having my wife and our five kiddos to provide for makes it that much more tricky. I feel the blockchain technology is the currency of the future and really the future of so many things we use everyday. I also feel it is the perfect way to get out of economic slavery!

Steemit indeed sound so unreal at first to many of us eventually joined. It took the bravery of one guy(@tojukaka) to whom I have so much respect for now to convince me into joining Steemit.
The story has never been the same since then. Social wise,information wise and financial wise
One of my Steemit goal this year is to reciprocate the love that was shown to me by going back to facebook to promote Steemit. I wont stop until someone is lifted into the true light of possibilities that Steemit present to mankind.

From a minnow's view in the trenches I can tell you it's happening on a very broad basis. I have been getting to know many of my fellow noobs over the last month or so and it's having a positive impact even for us. Tons of good people coming in from Nigeria, Venezuela and other places where 1 SBD goes a long way.
Here in Nicaragua I've been telling friends about steemit but so far it feels like explaining bitcoin to a non-tech in the early days. I'm going to keep trying though.
