Cooking A Weeks Worth Of Food! (More Time For STEEMIT!)

in #life8 years ago

I'm getting a little crazy obsessed with Steemit, But sadly I have other things I have to run, And I have to eat now and then. So I cooked a whole weeks worth of food! That way I can save time by munching on leftovers the whole week.

Keep in mind, I'm no professional photographer, Or a Chef LOL. I'm much better at drawing and writing! LOl.

What I Made

Buffalo Chicken Breasts and A Loaded Cauliflower Mash.

This is my first time making a Cauliflower Mash.

My Ingredient Pile

Wash and cut the Cauliflower heads

Steeming Them In a pot (Yes I said Steem Instead of Steam LOL!)

Browning the Chicken

Making The Hot Sauce

I used Worcestershire sauce, Franks Redhot, And Some butter

I pulled the steemed Cauliflower out

Now I put it in some sour cream, Milk, Seasonings, And a bit of butter.
and Cheese.

SMASH!

Chicken Goes into the Oven to finish cooking

The Cauliflower Also Goes into the Oven For Cooking

With added bacon.

The Oven ended up smoking things up, And the bacon wasn't cooked, So I did it over stovetop instead

This guy Witnessed the whole process

The Finished Meal!

the expression on your witness's face is so cute :) and thanks for sharing this post...even I prefer cooking in advance...it indeed saves a lot of time

Thanks hehehe He was begging the whole time, Silly dog!
It does! It's crazy to think some people may cook each meal of everyday, It seems like too much.

True that

It all looks great! I wish I was a better cook. My solution was to sign up for a prepared meal delivery service. It's great! I get perfectly portioned, healthy gourmet meals delivered several times a week for about $7 a meal. Makes it so easy to eat a clean diet!

Great post!

Thank you! I'm the same way! I love those meal services too! It makes life much easier, Plus you can try new foods and recipes. I actually stole the idea for my meal from a meal service LOl. I just made it on my own because I can't always afford those meal services.

It's funny, I've never done blue apron or plated or any of those services that deliver just the ingredients, but I know I've eaten a ton of the recipes, because everyone in my family who uses those kinds of services make the same dishes again at family gatherings. Definitely a good way to find great recipes!

Oh I love Cauliflower but I've never tried it your way yet @kaylinart. But I'll definitely give it a shot some time soon 😀 Hope you and your boyfriend enjoyed it 😉

Did you feed the witness any bacon? :)

A Small piece yes! LOL.

Oh thank goodness. The lil devil looks hungry. :)

wow, looks delicious!

Thank you .

God damn I'm hungry now, nice looking setup :)

Yay thank you ehhehe :)

Cooking large batches has always made sense to me... we have a large freezer, so that helps, too. There are a number of things that are really good to make ahead... meatballs, chicken breasts can be pre-cooked and then sliced and used for salads, and stir frys. Good thinking!

Right? I love that you have a large freezer, That helps a lot too hehe :)

Looks great! I always enjoy your posts

Delicious and healthy food.
Its scent can smell even from the photo.
Hahaha

OMG LOll!

Thats a great idea! I am new to steemit and spend alot of time trying to figure out how it works. Now I am thinking how to cook a week's meal so I have more time on steemit.

Have followed and upvoted you. Hope you can do the same!! Looking forward to your posts so that I can learn from you. Looks like you are an expert in Steemit!!

Was the finished meal as awesome as it looks? 😋

Yes :) I wish I smashed up the cauliflower a little more though heheh :)
thank you .

It looks good. Your witness looks like he wants his pay. After all he was a good witness and made sure nobody bothered you in the process.

Hehehe Right? He got a small piece of bacon for his efforts

If I made a weeks worth of food it would look like this:

Wait, no, it's not enough. (buys more watermelon)

OMG That is so funny hehee.

Yes, you are obsessed with Steemit, the food does look good though, I am 55 and all I can cook are scrambled eggs and anything that just has to be fried or microwaved, luckily my wife likes to cook.

Wow really!? Thank you thats really sweet hehe!! I totally am. This place is my life!

Have you ever considered going vegan, just for a month to see? You can blog about your experiences if you decide to do it.

Wow! Are you vegan? I Don't know if I could pull it off!

If you are willing to try I'm sure you'll have supporters in your comments. If you try and fail at least you'll have something to blog about but if you don't try then you never can learn how to become vegan.

It's not hard to be vegan if you've got the money to learn what foods you like. A lot of vegan food tastes as good or better than animal products although I admit there aren't good substitutes for cheese, eggs, and ice cream. So I will not claim that it's easy or that you won't have to give stuff up, but it's a learning experience.

Try it for 1 week, blog about the first week, and if you find you can go longer than a week then try to stretch it to a month, and if you think you can go longer then try for longer, and then if you want to stop you can stop. You can also use your blog to ask vegans on Steemit what some tasty foods are, from meat substitutes, to snacks, etc.

I would definitely have to do my research first! And that would definitely give me something to blog about!

I haven't looked into it, But I've heard some people claim vegan is the healthy way to go, While others claim that meat is necessary.
So I guess I'd have to test it and see what works best for my body.
I also would hope that there are more alternatives I'm unaware of. I tried BBQ Jackfruit sandwiches recently, and didn't like it.

I think not having Ice cream would be hard for me! Thats one of my favorites haha.

you are no chef...??? hummmmmm ...

Heheh NOpe :)

Fantastic food post. I really like your idea of making more time for steemit, it makes perfect sense.

STEEM ON!!

Thank you! I am trying to free up as much time as I can hehe.

Does the witness need protection?

You can follow my food blog to know more about me @fatkid

But all that being said about modulation, if you're serving people delicious food, they won't complain.
great work

And now I'm hungry! I can do a few days worth of food in one go but to get through a weeks worth of prep is a big ask! One day!
