Its never to early to start saving for next Christmas. Wouldn't you want a free Christmas.

That's another Christmas over and done with. Now I have to start planning for next year, I start my saving in January for Christmas, it means that Christmas is so much easier. Christmas all paid for without the worry of having to pay it back after. I stopped using credit quite a few years ago, hubby used to get laid off at Christmas without pay so then I would get the credit cards out then struggled to pay them back. I decided not to use them again .

I now start as soon as Christmas day is over with.
I love a game of bingo, I pay 3 times a week, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I play through £10 each night. I have all ready won £70 which is put away for next Christmas.

I have a Swear jar that I don't use for swearing I use it for savings, If I have spare £1 put them in the jar, it holds around £300.

I also have a Piggy bank where I save £2 coins, The pig hold around £300.

I have a tin that I put all my loose change in, its very surprising how quick this fills.

I then do a lot of survey online where I keep all the vouchers and earnings towards Christmas, that can add up to around £500 with my shop and scan where I scan my shopping when I get it home then on a Sunday I transmit it to ShopandScan. I also do texts where I send the code of any food I buy and eat out of the house.

I used to sell things on Ebay and save the money but now donate all my things to Helping Pets when I do the table top sale with my sister.

I also have a couple of apps where I can get money off my shopping, I save that too, that can add up to £300 a year.

I still save with some shops, I save with ASDA, save £144 get £6 free which pays for all the food, I get points at Tesco and Morrisons where I can get money of my shopping, I buy my alcohol with these.

That's my Next Christmas sorted, no worry no hassle just look forward to a Free Christmas and New Year

It all helps towards birthdays etc through the year.

WHO WOULDN'T WANT A FREE CHRISTMAS

Great post! Have a good day!

Thank you :)

I agree, credit should be avoided at all costs! I understand why people fall into the habit of using it... lay offs, etc.. but it's great to be free from that. Good for you

Thank you , Its such a relief to not have to think about paying it all back, its done now for next year and you don't really miss it :)

Yeah that makes sense. Set aside for a specific purpose helps you not tap into it for other reasons

Its worked for me for years, doing the odd survey and using a few money saving apps has worked well :)

That is simply awesome

Great Reminder for us all with the new year coming. Thank you!

Thank you every little bit helps and soon adds up fast :)

excellent information & thnx for sharing @karenb54

Thank you :)

Good thinking chief, it is a pity more people didn't think the same, and cut the credit men out of business.

Its easy once you get into a routine, just save everything you don't need it soon adds up :)

Throw in a bit from Steemit and you will become really rich, put a bit away for a great holiday or trip.

That's What i am hoping for, I may come and visit lol

It may start as a visit, probably it would turn into a stay, 30 C in summer, maybe a frost and 10 - 15 C in winter. No smog, clean sunshine, fresh air. This is getting like a commercial .
Have a look on uncle Google

Do you have bad weather, i can't be doing with strong winds and thick snow :)

Sometimes it gets a bit windy, but then you stay inside, we might have snow that actually stays on the ground once in 10 to 15 years, but it is gone tomorrow. Some places have plenty of snow, it brings in all the skiers and their money.

These are all excellent ideas, Karen. I started doing this along time ago because I refuse to use credit cards. Every little bit helps towards a debt free good Christmas. Kudos to you for starting to save for Christmas now! It just makes it so nice not to have to worry.

It has become a challenge for me now, to see if I can save more next year, this year I managed to put money away into our savings :)

Way to go, Karen!
