My first fishing experience that I won't forget

"Get the bait, toss in the water and pull. They flap and I have to catch." I spent a day of fishing in a restaurant in Liloan, Cebu City, Philippines.

Sunday is a great day for family gatherings and mini get togethers. My family decided to go to Liloan, Cebu to spend a day in a restaurant. The restaurant's concept is a Philippine native nipa hut with estimated 40 cottages. These cottages are built directly into the fishpond where the guests can do fishing. Fishes caught may be requested to cook and served, but we decided to bring ours at home.

MY FISHING EXPERIENCE

The establishment provided fishing rods and fish nets with a bait and fish foods to get its attention.

So I put on the bait

Tossed them in the water

Once the fishing rod was pulled by the fish while eating the bait, I also had to pull the rod and get them. I admit fishing isn't really easy, but I really had to be alert once I pulled them out of the water. They really flap to strong and jump too fast. I made sure to place them on the fish net and assured that they won't escape.

HOW IS FISHING SIMILAR TO REAL LIFE SITUATIONS

Dreams, ambitions, goals or even things we want are the things we cannot have easily. All it takes to have these is perseverance, determination, motivation and positivity. Things we want really takes time before it has to happen. Just like fishing, before we catch a fish we must do steps to catch it. Wait and be patient for the fish to take its bait. Needs and wants are also catching a fish, it takes determination and patience. Once we give up, we can't have it.
