We are addicted to our phones...

Smartphones took over our lives – we wake up to the alarm set on our phone, we read the news on our phone, we talk to our friends online, we check social media platforms a hundred times a day, phones guide us in traffic, we watch videos and movies on our phones and, at the end of the day, we fall asleep with our phone in our hand.

The results of a recent study made by Ipsos company, at the request of Huawei, have shown that most of the people feel lost without their smartphone. Additionally, most teenagers have declared themselves to be addicted to their smartphones. We’ve gotten to a point in which we spend most of our lives online.

The fact that we spend so much time on our phones is not the worst problem. The worst part of this is that technology addiction puts our life in danger. We all know that the blue light from phone screens affects us in a negative way, but many people admit that they checked their messages in traffic.

Long story short, we put our lives in danger consciously.
In the context in which we use our phones from the moments we wake up and until we fall asleep, Huawei launched the Addicted To You campaign, which encourages people to put their phones aside and interact more with people around.

Addicted to you is an app through which you can make a statement for a loved one with a photo. A lot of people went to Huawei stores and written messages for their close ones.

We should all follow this example and tell someone how much we care about them – a friend, a parent or a partner. We have to replace our addiction to smartphones with love for people. Nothing will ever make you happier than raising your eyes from your phone and enjoying the beauty of life.

Life is short, maybe it’s time to appreciate it and more importantly, to appreciate those around us...

I believe that smartphones have come to serve the same function as alcohol: disconnection from reality and being fully present in the world.

Secondly, it seems to me that Western society has become addicted to stimulation and entertainment. I have noticed that people immediately go for their phones as soon as they find themselves without a task or activity of some sort.

I was just watching black panther in the theater this guy in front of me kept checking his Facebook during the movie. & I'm sitting there like bro whats so important on fB that can wait two hours. Addition in its finest.

I am addicted to Phone...
But Most Of time I am busy at School...
And it Consumes My 12 Hour...
Rest Of 9 Hours I sleep and 3 hours I am at Phone :(

Unfortunately we are extremely addicted to our smartphones and generally to the technology that is surrounding us and made us so dependable of it.
In a way it is understandable as more and more things can be done accessing a smartphone but in the same time i feel that as technology is developing the more we became nonhuman.
More and more often i see people on the same table and not even talking a single word for hours because they are using their smartphones and this is so sad.... as i mention we became slowly slowly more nonhuman!
Yes life its short and we should learn to balance everything!

I really take moments in the day, where I put my smartphone away

  • Going to the gym
  • Beeing with a friend
  • Driving
  • Watching a movie
  • Reading

What me and my friends sometimes do is that when we go out for dinner, we put all our phone together. Who checks his/her phone first, needs to pay the bill. I can tell you it works. The conversations get better.

yup, cell phones are probably killing as many people as gun homicides but they advertise a lot on the TV. So nothing needs to be done.

can you help me help some people who wish they could be addicted to smart phones get hooked?

Yup @jwolf I can totally relate myself with the post. But for me using phone is that I always try to find and share informative content on steemit because steem is all about sharing knowledge with each other

Yes @jwolf. You are absolutely right. We are all addicted to our cell phones. We could not understand our damage. And when we understand then I is too late. I liked your writing. Really you are a good writer. Thanks for sharing the awareness post.

Smartphone addiction is something that is on the constant rise. This is because smartphones are becoming even more effective daily in helping us complete our daily objectives.

For example, I do an online course, most of the time I use my phone to stay in touch when I don't have access to a PC, I also suffered the steem blockchain using my phone and so on.

To be sincere, despite the fact that these smartphones are if numerous benefits, the negative side must also be taken note of.

I have difficulty sleeping. I also become disoriented when I'm without my phone. It feels like my phone is now a part of me.

I believe everything must be done with balance so as not to let it's side effects get a better of us.

Good post @jwolf

Totally :( It is incredible, You can not talk with a person because he/she is always checking the smartphone...
Unfortunately we are extremely addicted to it.

smartphones has really taken over our lifes we just keep checking it frequently even in nights while sleeping that's a worse addiction

too much addictive nowadays no one can spare a second without it

Not even able to sleep well due to this time to take it seriously

smartphones are around and its like oxygen now no one can give up

I notice that I'm more addicted to the phone on weekends and traffic!

only use smartphone for important tasks

I find it really sad that people are so addicted to their smart phones. It takes extreme self discipline to combat smart phone addictions, which most people don't have.
