Nighttime Running
One of the most popular things to do is running. It can be a hobby, a way to get in shape, or just a part of your workout routine. Whatever the case may be, running is easily able to take part in and is something that does not burn a hole in your pocket, due to the activity being very inexpensive. The inexpensiveness comes from the little supplies that one needs to go running: shoes and running clothes.
With such little requirements, running can be done almost anywhere and any time. That's right, running is not just an activity to be performed during the day, but you can also go running during the nighttime. With nighttime running, many people may prefer to have running clothes with reflectors on them, but to many this provides an inconvenience or an extra cost to the activity due to the purchases of "special" clothes that many may feel would be mandatory. As a matter of fact this is not always the case. The next time you decide to go running, jogging, biking, or walking at night but you do not have these "special" types of running clothes, instead of going through all the hassle and cost of getting reflective gear, just use standard aluminum foil tape which can be found at almost any hardware store.
To perform this "hack", you simply lay out whichever clothes/shoes you are going to wear during your activity, and place the tape on them in whatever matter or pattern you wish. Because the aluminum tape has a metallic appearance, it is able to reflect lights from cars and streetlights, almost as well as professional reflective gear. I took this hack on a "trial run", where I ran roughly six miles for about 42 minutes. I am glad to say that while I ran the tape stayed on my clothes the entire time despite sweat and rain that may have affected the adhesion. The function of the tape did not fail either. While running I noticed the reflection of a car's headlights and from the street lights up above. Overall, I would say that this hack was effective for its purpose. The only disadvantage to using the tape is that it has a one time use. After each run you will need to place new tape on the clothes, but compared to reflective gear, it is much more convenient if you do not have any or if you cannot afford any gear.
I hope you all enjoyed this hack and helped out those that may have needed it. Stay safe, and watch for more of "JPP's Life Hacks" in the future!!!!
This is something that I have not thought of! Definitely going to try this out.
Best time to run is at night. It's cooler out, less people on the streets, and helps you to think
Yeah @aaronburt. I've noticed that when I run at night every now and then.
