Life Changing Decision

in #life7 years ago

I quit my job with no immediate replacement for my income and it has been the the most important thing I could have done.

Freedom is something we all strive for and crave, yet almost no one achieves freedom. We all are under a false impression that we are free. We say that America is a free country and we are free people, but we are not. How much of our time is actually "free"? The vast majority of us "free people" wake up every day for a job we hate, to work with people we can barely tolerate, and spend our day doing mundane things we would never actually want to do. Is that freedom?

I began this year with a very frightening, but rewarding decision. I quit my job. My time is mine and for the first time in many years, my time is mine. I can do what I want when I want without anybody to tell me otherwise. I truly am free. Before you start judging or making assumptions about my life, let me give you a little background of myself.

I was in the Marine Corps for four years. My time was never mine. Every hour of every day was decided by the Marine Corps. I was trapped and after four long, but successful years, I decided to leave thinking "Now my time will actually be mine". I immediately went to work after leaving the Marines. I was successful in this job, but I hated every single day. I didn't even like the weekends because it just meant I had to go to work in a few days. I was extremely depressed and had lost interest in most of the things I usually enjoyed. After almost a full year of working there, I couldn't do it anymore. So, with the beginning of 2018, I quit my job.

I am truly excited about my next steps. My time is mine and nobody else's (except for my wife's of course). As far as income, I am pursuing many possibilities for income. My main focus will be real estate. I will also be dabbling in cryptocurrencies and day-trading. This blog will be following all that I do.

I appreciate your support and follow along with me as I take on this new adventure.

Bye for now.
