Beatles, dog toys, dolls and more.... never ending projects! I love crochet!

in #life8 years ago (edited)

I haven't been on here much lately, thanks to several projects that have come up. I'm not the fastest crocheter in the west due to nerve damage in my hand, and oh, being 5+ months pregnant means getting up frequently to move around.

Twiddle muff with a Beatle flare

I had previously posted about an interesting order that I was working on...a Beatlea themed twiddle muff. Its been finished but I wanted to make sure the customer recieved it before posting it up on social media.
The photo above is the final project and here it is before I sewed the layers together:

Twiddle muffs are great for Alzheimer and dementia patients and come in all sorts of styles. Some people sew on more trinkets, beads, buttons and such, than others. It all depends on what you prefer.

Dog toys (and a possible business opportunity)

I'm also working on putting together some samples for a business/consignment proposal. The shop sells mostly small dog boutique type items.
These are a couple of toys that I've finished:

I am making a few more different types and a couple of Christmas items before sending them off to the business owner. Cross your fingers for me, this could turn into a great opportunity!

What to make for a teenage girl's birthday?

And last, bur certainly not least, my daughter's birthday is right around the corner. She picked out some things that she wants me to make her but I also decided on some small surprises for her.

This is a weebee doll, feel free to chuckle... She doesn't have hair or clothes yet. My daughter plays volleyball, has for several years. So I thought I'd make her a volleyball doll. I hope she likes it.

I also made her a bookmark in her school colors. The T (for Tori) still needs sewn on. Honestly, that's my least favorite part about crocheting, so it gets saved for last!

Although not the last project I'm making her, it's the only one completely finished. I made her a little penny purse in some cool suede type yarn I had. I was holding on to it for a special project and this worked out perfectly. The button is special as it came from my Nana's collection that I received after she passed away.

Although I have been crocheting gifts for most of my family members for the last five years or so, I decided to take this creativity to a different level. About a year ago I began selling my crafts at local sales and finally opened up shop online about six months ago. I keep some inventory on hand but the majority of my work is done on a custom basis...everyone has their own favorite colors and styles. Please feel free to visit my shop for more information or to message me about a special item you would like made!

Well that's everything for now. Back to my yarn and hook. I hope you enjoyed! I'll keep posting as I finished up more projects. They are certainly neverending!

Sort:

I would like to see the patterns for the turkey leg and the green toy.

Sure! I found both of them on Ravelry. When I get home I'll post them on this thread.

@blocktrades Here are the links to the patterns from my library:

Bubble toy

I am also taking orders for these toys as well as many other items. If you, or anyone else you know, are interested, feel free to visit my page Purtisful Loops by Jess. I have been crocheting for over 5 years and just this year opened up shop to help support my family. Thanks and have a great day!

Thanks for the patterns!

You're very welcome!

I love these, especially the Beatles muffs! I've always knitted but never took up crocheting - this is inspiring me.
I checked out your Etsy site, you might be interested in selling your crochet creations on Peerhub.com (you can read more about it here). It is a marketplace that is focused around Steem dollars and the Steemit community. We're holding a raffle this week with a pool of 150 SD if you post an item on the site. I will also be making a weekly post highlighting newly listed items in the marketplace that could potentially help your creations reach a wider audience :-)

Thank you! I've been making some more inventory and made to order items so I'll definitely check it out.

I really like your crochet work @jessica-miller! I too have a passion for crocheting. I am making an initiative to bring needlework back to life and inspire others. It really helps when people with like interests work together. Would you take the time to read my post about #NeedleworkMonday? I sure hope you will join me and others in sharing this wonderful art with others. Thank you for your time~ 😊
