The country is independent,but are you ??

Being independent is not just about being financially independent, but being independent enough to take decisions and make choices irrespective of what people think. A lot of people ask me how is that I’m so care-free and even careless at times? Well, the fact my friend is that I live for myself and not for others; I chose to care about what I think than the people. A lot of people find my behaviour childish and I get a lot of people telling me to behave of my age. Just because I’m growing old, it doesn’t mean I get so damn serious about my life that life becomes surviving and not living. Yes I live life with no boundaries and as free as I can because I chose to live life and not thrive through it for I know what has to come will come and what has to leave shall leave I can’t control most of it but what I can control is how I live through it. Either we can follow all the rules and curtail ourselves or we break the rules and live free, but in both approaches, we need to know which are the rules to follow and which are to break because certain rules conjure a harmonious existence while certain others are shit dropped out of narrow mindsets.

You are found hanging out with friends of other gender and we have…. What will people think??

You chose any subject over Engineering… What will people think??

When you are darn tired of everything and want to take a break for a year and be jobless...What will people think!

You give a number of tries to perceive your dreams and then at a point you just stop trying because….. What will people think! That you are a loser?

You chose to work in a restaurant for some pocket money…. What will people think?

You get don’t get married…What people will think…. If you do get married and it’s not a lavish one….What will people think…You do get married in a lavish way and then don’t have kids…what will people think…and it goes on.

I just have one question who the hell is “people”. What do people consist of? It’s just you
and me. If each one of us thinks right and does right and just minds our own business there won’t be a need to think about what people will think or say.
At a point of time in my life I too was a victim of this, but then I realized, every decision that I was taking considering what people will think made my life all about people, there was no me, I was a slave to people’s thought.

Why are we living our life thinking what will people think, the people who will hardly think about me or you for a day or two after we die while we have lived our entire life according to their thinking?

Do you want to die with a regret of not doing things you wanted to do? Do you want to live a life of a bonsai or of a full-fledged tree?

Life my dear is all about choices, you had no control over your birth nor do you have control over your death the only thing that you have control over is on the decisions that you take and the choices that you make so make them for yourself based on what you believe in and what you feel right in your consciousness, because no matter what you do or you don’t, people will always have something to say or think. When you are at war, killing the enemy soldier might be right for you, but it might be a pain to the family of the soldier you killed. Nothing in this world is good or bad, right or wrong, it all depends on your perception. You can live your life satisfying other people or being satisfied yourself.

PS: Maybe a lot of you might not agree with my writing and might feel living by “What will people think” is best way to be accepted in the society, then make sure you raise the question “What will people think” when a person is demanding Dowry, Molesting or Raping someone, throwing garbage on the streets, Smoking in public, Urinating in public, Bullying someone, Beating up children or not educating them etc. Why do these things become personal matters and not something for people to think of or say something about?
