I keep just enough in the bank to pay bills, rest I keep outside the banking system. I also started saving all my $1s and $5s. I have my change jar but now also have my 1s and 5s bucket. Pretty cool how much you will have after a year. I even try to pay with larger bills so I will get some 1s and 5s back to put in the bucket.
