Many states and countries are making both medical and recreational use of marijuana legal.
There are a multitude of reasons for it.
We are not going to go into those right now.
There is a multitude of reasons why you may be FOR or AGAINST it.
Many people are automatically "against it"... because we've been indoctrinated by the media for decades now....
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?
DO YOU use it?
DO YOU frown on people who do, if you don't?
Do you think it should be legal everywhere, or banned everywhere?
I haven't seen smoke.io until now, is this a copy of Steem?
I think that marijuana should be legalized everywhere in the world, because no matter what rules some governments impose about it, it will still be consumed by people who want it.
People have the power to self destruct in so many ways (alcohol and sugar being more painful for their bodies than marijuana and similar plants), it's their responsibility not to overdose anything...
It's a fork of steem, with significant code changes, its own blockchain, and cannabis-related community.
I live in Canada where cannabis is about to become legal in three days, on October 17th.
Personally, I've never tried marijuana myself but I have nothing against it being legalized. I just hate smoke of any kind.
I might try edibles when they are legal next year.
Canada is also developing a cannabis beer that would be on the market next year. It will have less calories and be gluten free, so I might try that when it comes out.
I think it probably should be legal everywhere. Right now, if I want to cross the border into the United States, if we are asked if we've ever smoked pot even once in our lives and admit yes, we are refused entry and banned for life. That's quite ridiculous. It's also hypocritical since the U.S. has had at least two presidents who've admitted to smoking pot.
You are living right concept of life.. which ridiculous situations of yesterday graduates into legitimacy today...
It should feel weird, and strange... and by what you just wrote.. it DOES feel weird and strange...
Thank you so much for sharing your experience...
Reserving any judgements whatsoever, (illegal where we are), we've looked thoroughly at smoke.io as a project and can only say top marks, delivered with a fully working live dApp ... if you are a legal cannabis business with a license in a registered state/country, you MUST check it out - great early adoption chance.
From Alaska here where it has been semi-legal always. We had some crazy loop hole allowing Alaskans to grow and have weed in their own home. When they actually legalized it a few years ago the first person in Alaska to buy weed was an old lady buying it to make a salve. She had used it once in her life and it was the only thing that ever took her pain away. But because it was not Technically legal she never got to use it.
I am an herbalist and grew up in a state where it was considered pretty normal. I have always known people my whole life who use it medicinally. My spouse is from the midwest where weed is a DRUG.
Depends on where you grew up :)
I grow lots of medicinal herbs in my fish tank and they are all considered weeds somewhere!
I love this part of your comment to death. It's true! Lots of medicinal herbs are considered weeds by many people. Isn't that unfortunate?
unfortunate indeed!
I live in a state where it is legal for medicinal and recreational use. I haven't used it in a long time, but I'm not against others using it. I just personally can't justify spending the money for it.
I don't frown on people who do use it as long as it's used responsibly. Same goes for other legal but regulated substances. From what I've gathered, it is much less harmful to the user than tobacco, and it is much less harmful to others than alcohol. It just helps people feel happy and laugh at stupid things. That's not bad, right?
Since most of the issues revolve around its negative hype, I feel that people will be surprised at how little things change around them if it were legalized. Except for safety; it might be much safer since people who are high are less likely to drive (or drive fast) than people who are drunk; there may be a lot less road rage with more high driving; there may even be a lot more positivity in the world. Who knows?
As for smoke.io, no I haven't heard about it. Reading a bit, it seems to be, effectively, a weed-infused steemit?

New Jersey will legalize M. on the 31st of October or just their after. I am completely dumbfounded and never in my life did I think it would happen. I think it's good. Lot's off tax $ and people won't continue the incarceration cycle.
