Stop Dreaming

Hey guys! So I just sat down and wanted to write about this because it's graduation season in the Philippines. I'm sure that all of us have dreams. We all aspire to be something of worth. We all want to experience the epitome of life that is success. There is liberty in dreaming, and it's not bad to dream... or is it?

Don't worry. I won't shame you for being a dreamer. Even I have hopes and dreams. Dreams are our basis of success. They are our prediction of the future, or images that depict our pleasure. I have always been a fan of dreaming since it lets us experience the joy of achievement through means of simulation.

So, if I'm a fan of dreaming, you might ask why I'm implying that dreaming is something we should stop doing.
Because it's all in your head...

Because of harsh realities and unfairness of life, we have a tendency to drown ourselves in pleasure. That's why many people resort to vices. We drown ourselves in worldly pleasures to numb the pain. Dreams are hopes, but they're false hopes. We entrust our fate to a mere fiction of the mind, a figment of our imagination. We surround ourselves with euphoric delusions to stray our minds from the harshness of life. When we dream, we don't think of what happens as a whole. We all skip to the climax, the success that we all want to achieve

So, what am I fighting for? I'll let Shia Labeouf do the talking

I don't care if it's a meme. His intention was to share a message. Dreams are called dreams for a reason, because dreams can never exist. It only exists in our head. Our dreams will only be dreams if we don’t do anything about it now. It's time to wake up from dreaming, it's time to face the reality of life. Live out your dream and make it a goal.

Imagine watching a soccer game. As a kid, you can only dream of becoming a player who won a championship game. But as a player who has to reach the goal, it's not as easy as creating a false image in your head. There are other players who will stop you, there are strategies that you need to come up with, and there are skills that you must be equipped with in order to reach your goals. Lastly, we also have our teammates that we can rely on, unlike in dreams when we focus on ourselves.

Stop dreaming. It's only an act for children.
Stop dreaming your life out, and start living out your dream.

Dreams without actions are shit...what one do with them is what matters,
leave them alone and they are just that,
do something to achieve them is the real thing.
I have had dreams that produced results,
i have more and working on them.
It depends upon an individual..so i'll say
"dream big!"

That's also true. Your dreams produced results because you lived out your dreams to become tangible goals. As you said, you were working on them. That's how I wrote the message to be.
Still, you speak the truth. To dream big is also important.
Thank you for reading by the way :) at magandang gabi kabayan!

followed you too @bayanihan

A dream without action and dedication to make dream happens is just a hallucination.

Great poetry. Keep up the good work.

Thanks @marytser15. I'm glad you liked it :)

As a relatively anxious individual who spends a lot of time in her head, this one really struck a chord with me, thanks for a thought provoking read^^
