Previous Episode

Taliban attacked there village and they killed every male as they found them a threat as they marched towards Kabul to capture the city. After three days she heard rumours as a karavan of people is heading towards Pakistan. She gathered her clothes and started toward in the direction of karavan. After walking two days she reached the border city Al-Khyam and she found trucks full of people who somehow wanted to go across the borders. She mixed in the crowd and found herself a seat in the truck. They were all stacked like animals, when she just was married and while going to her husband house she saw a truck whcich was stacked with goats, what different they are she thought while adjusting her self to the jerks of moving truck.

After two days of journey she found herself in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Pakistan government had provided them tents as shelter in a Refugee camp and they were claimed as refugees there. In these tents life was very hard. They were not given proper food. Ration supplies were too slow and mostly it was being distributed among those who were working as volunteers in the camps "Smuggling liqor for the Local Police or supplying drugs for them" or to those whose ladies were sleeping with pakistani guards.

Asif Qureshi was the superviser of the camp and he eyed on Zara since the first day she arrived. He kept on convincing her to bed him but Zara was a chastit women and she kept herself away from such sinnic act. Asif played the dirtiest trick by abondening the ration supplies. She understood that to feed her son properly she will have to make this compromise. If she was alone then she would have rather killed herself but a mother won over and and finally she submitted herself to Asif Qureshi.

She was happy that atleast her son was getting milk out from her breasts and no matters whatever trouble she has to go through but she will raise her son properly, She thought to herself while feeding her son. Her husband wanted their son to be educated and live respectable life not like as they were born servents and died servants. Her husband named him Shoib Mohammad Khan.

Five years went away like this and they were no better then beggars and there seemed no hope for the things to get better in Afghanistan. She heard that Taliban have captured the whole Afghan and now they are ruling it under the Sharia Law. She decided that she will never take her son back to the country as she never wanted to loose her son the way she lost his father and over the top there was nothing left for her to which she could look back at. That day she slept dreaming about her house in Afghanistan. She dreamed about Mohammad Khan. Tears rolled down from the corner of her eyes.

Asif Ali used her in all manners and to be clear he enslaved her in return of the favors he did to her by guarantying her the food. She was living a life of a whore a cheap slut who not only has to satisfy physical needs of Asif ali but he made her to sleep with his friends as they all shared ladies among st. Sometimes Asif had also sent her to few local people as well.

Zara was living a life of distress, humilation and guilt but whenever she saw her face in mirror she got more and more determined to provide her son better life. Pakistani government started a Madrasa for the refugees and Zara sent Shoaib there for education.

Very well written @honeychum. You have very accurately and with great senstivity, described the plight of Zara and millions of women stuck in such a situation, world over. A mother is the weakest and the strongest. A mother is the most vulnerable and also the most ferocious. A mother is most compassionate and most ruthless. You have portrayed this aspect of a mother beautifully. The pace of the story is very good and well balanced.
And I really like the way the episode ends in some hope. Or maybe a twist, with the mention of the Madrasa for refugees. Great progression of the story. The story kind of gets under the skin of the reader. You feel the misery, hope, loss, memories and dreams ! Beautiful , @honeychum

Oh my God! Being a girl, I'm feeling so pain, just like I completely lost my soul entirely. What the heck it with this cheap man Asif? How he can do this with a poor soul woman who is hopeless and submitted to her just for getting food. Alas, the man who is getting benefits of the poor woman by all means represents his family background clearly. Curse on him!
