Thanks for sharing adamsays. Although I never had a passion for music, I played in a brass band for 10 years, (because my parents made me do it). So I can definitely relate to the points you made.

So you've also been through (and maybe more) all the things I've experienced
It's unimaginable for me to not have passion for music, but in the same way I like music I'm sure there's something you adore and I can't feel the same way like you for that thing
Woah, even with all my passion for music I wouldn't never make my children do something they don't wanna do, that's so wrong.
