The first month is critical and we have lost a great number of potentials that quit because they could not feel they belong

I agree, the first month's retention rate may be a little low. SO many feel intimidated, lost and eventually get frustrated so they leave. I am doing my best to keep those who are here and to gather the new incoming and envelop them with guidance, support and suggestions; hence why I am enjoying @davemccoy's initiative. The things I am finding to be hurting these new steemians are basic and once they get some positive words, reinforcements and ideas, they are getting more comfortable.
