Have you ever heard the song "My way" from Frank Sinatra? Please listen to the song, then you will know exactly what I am talking about. This song has a very special place in my heart. Firstly because I loved Frank Sinatra, and secondly because this is such an honest song. This song totally describes the way that we should live our lives. Life is terribly short, and we never know what could happen to change our lives forever.

A colleague of mine has a very dear friend, currently in hospital fighting for her life. They have been friends for nearly thirty years. Her friend went in for a very small operation to remove a small mass in her stomach. During the operation, they discovered a bigger mass in her stomach which they tried to remove....she started bleeding and they couldn't stop the bleeding.  They decided to call it quits and stopped the operation.  She has been in a coma ever since.  Everyone is devastated.

When a tragedy like this happens, it always makes me think about my own life and these questions spin around in my head.

Do I show my feelings enough?

Do I spend enough time with family and friends?

Do I listen when people speak to me?

Do I live my life the way it was intended to live?

Life is meant for living. Don't allow work, or anything else to get in your way. Remember to always be yourself, and follow advice, but don't change because people want you to change. Make sure that you travel each and every highway...and make sure that you have no regrets in life. Do what you can WHILE you still have the opportunity, but don't take on too much.

Do things your way, but make sure you are remembered forever.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

I just upvoted some of your post the pictures are very beautiful,we have something's in common please follow me @scotty777

Yep I resonate with this. I like to do things that involve me my way. That way I can take the blame when things don't turn out. It is entirely my fault and I can own it.

I fully agree with you. I was born to do things my way...lol...I am actually a very stubborn person..lol!

You certainly are doing it "Your Way". I also like the song My Way for the same reasons you do. Our lives can be challenging and rocky, but at least you can face each day "your way". Many times we don't realize that we need to appreciate all things now until something tragic happens or when something goes wrong. I'm glad you touched on this topic. Thank-you for sharing with us something special!

Thank you @cabbagepatch. I am glad you found this inspiring. May you have a blessed day today!

I love Frank Sinatra. I love his music. But his life, the way how he partly treated his family, leaves room for discussion. But oh well, he was "just" a human being with flaws and making mistakes.

Hi Koala! I absolutely love his music but I honestly don't know much about his private life. Perhaps he was just one of those people that put up a front in front of others. Sad though...

It is the image of the stars we know. 😉

Love the post . "My way" bye Frank Sinatra is just beautiful !

@giantbear thank you for the inspirational post and i'm sorry to hear about what happened to your colleague's friend. It's these things that put life into perspective as you say.

About the questions you ask yourself, i can take that a little further. Just try, once every few months to answer this one before you go to bed:
"If i would die this night, would i be content with life as i have lived it?"

Don't do this every night because you'll go insane. But every once in a while it will make you do a 180 and re-evaluate where you are, where your going, and with whom you're going there.

Peace.

Thank you @rymlen. Appreciate this a lot. Very true...if we constantly think of things we don't do we will go insane...lol!

Articles that are very interesting and inspiring

Thank you @yhopanz1707 I am glad that you are inspired. Have a great day!

I’ve heard the song transcribing the words as the lyrics wasn’t available. While hearing the phrases for several times I had a gut feeling that the singer or the lyric hero is THANKFUL for the inner opportunity to do his way…

thankful

Beautifully written pure inspiration, spreading positive energy.

Thank you...did you listen to my song? Did you get my email?
