A good night's sleep is as important as a healthy breakfast. We need this time to shut down our brains and to let our bodies rest. It is vitally important to get a good night's sleep, because our bodies heal itself during that time. Good sleep is good for our blood vessels and our hearts, and is the ultimate key to a healthy lifestyle.
This morning, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Literally. Somewhere through the night, my husband and I switched places. I often go to sleep very late at night, and by the time that I climb into bed there is hardly any space left for me. Between my husband, the dog and the cat, I really need my own bed.
I have to fight to get a little space to sleep. My husband sleeps like a log... no jokes. If he sleeps, he sleeps. Nothing or no one can wake him. I'm sure if we were able to pick him up and carry him outside, he would not know the difference. Once he is asleep, the world can explode next to him and he would not be bothered. It is very hard to move him, and I think most of my daily exercise is put into this effort. I usually just give up and climb in on the other side of the bed.
When I am finally IN my bed, after "stealing" enough of the duvet to cover myself, the snoring starts. I have heard some expressions that describe snoring...and perhaps you've heard these too:
- Sawing wood.....
- Sawing logs.....
- Snoring up a storm.....
But NONE of these can even begin to describe the sound that comes out of my bed. It sounds like a cross between a pig, a horse and a dolphin....and NO... I am NOT exaggerating.
After contemplating murder for half an hour or so, I am usually very agitated, which makes it even more difficult to fall asleep. If and when I finally fall asleep, I am totally exhausted!
This morning after I had only 3 hours of sleep, my husbands' alarm went off.
It was on his side of the bed...
May you have a blessed Saturday! Have some fun and get some sleep! I'm on my way to find a phone repair shop...
This was very funny indeed keep up the good work and steem on!!
Very good article explaining the importance of a deep and good night sleep, flavored with own funny story. In my case I am the one who needs a good night sleep, I even keep doing accounting work in my 4-6 hour sleep. Feeling very tired during the day. I need a break from this stupid accounting job (which I didn't take for 8 years).
Oh my...seems like you are bored with this job. We all need breaks. It is not good for your health NOT to take holidays. Why don't you go back to teaching? Honestly I think that accounting is the most boring job in the world...I wouldn't survive it ever....If I do a lot of Maths during the day I also dream in numbers. This is not good my friend. Not at all! Take a break. Come visit us here in South Africa.
It is a boring job, I built my practice in last 8-9 years working tirelessly on it. But now I am in it too much that all my clients need me to keep serving them.
I had an assistant thinking that he will take over some of my duties but he gave up and switched over to some other field and I stuck here forever! Now I am downgrading on it and training another assistant. Let's see and hope!!
I am glad that you are training an assistant. if you are not happy in your job, then you can't be happy anywhere. Good that you are scaling down.
This is hilarious, very well written as well :) good work
I am glad that I could make you laugh! How are you doing?
Hahahaha.... @scotty777 sal baie simpatie met jou he. Hy het my ook laas nag wakker gemaak oor ek snork. Vat 'n middagslapie!
Yip, ek beplan dit nogal. Moet net eers die foon laat regmaak en dan mall toe maar ek sal dit oorleef...lol!
I had the same problem with my husband. I thought it was just him or something I had to learn to live with, someone told me he might need a sleep study. I never heard of that before, my husband had a stroke and later had a sleep study which showed he had severe apnea. I wish we had done the study before, as the doctor says can be a factor possibly causing the stroke. I'm sure not saying this is your husband's situation but it might be wise to have it done. It can be done as outpatient at a local hospital or now as awareness is more prevalent can be done at a sleep clinic . I only wish I had know about this BEFORE he had his stroke. This is not given as medical advice, only my story about my experience. Hope all goes well, my friend. Upvoted and following
Oh wow...thank you for this. I might just follow your advice if I can get him to go to the doctor. I appreciate this. Thanks for the follow I will follow back. Have a great weekend.
You are welcome. It may not be his situation at all, I hope it isn't but after 5 years of caregiving for my husband I often wished I had pushed him a little more. Do yourself a favor insist he go plus other test. You will be thankful you did. A c-pap is much easier to clean etc than pushing him in a wheelchair. Forgive me for being straight forward. I'm tired. I care about you and your husband even though we haven't met. Blessings to you both!!
Good luck
Hahaha....
Half way through the post I was checking the title wondering if I read it wrong. I thought: she must have ment... Why my husband needs an other bad ...
Very very well written. I am sorry you slept so purly though.
I'll take an afternoon nap to make up for some lost sleep. Have a lovely Saturday!
That's why we sleep separate 😂.
It's like this story could have been written by me...I have the same problem (except for the phone) ;)
I can only imagine...you have three kids to fight off as well....lol!
Hahaha a good story to see. I also have the same case as your husband. 😅
Thorougly enjoyed your post. 😅
Great story, my wife also has a loudhailer on her head. Hope she does not see my comment here
😇
Ha ha ...now my husband tells me that I also snore. Luckily that doesn't bother me...
Yes my own snoring also does not bother me, but the wife's, that is another story!
Love the description of the snoring. Hope you get some good nights of sleep sometimes.
Oh I do...if I sleep before him...lol! Not very often but I do...hope you are well...
If you plug his nose, he will stop breathing momentarily, and wake up (usually very abruptly). At that point, you quickly fall asleep before it starts back up again. You'll have about a 45 second window to fall asleep. Good luck!
Great article, brightened my morning.
I have thought about that...but in my mind I used a big pillow...LOL
Then he tells you about his weird dream he had, where he was eating a giant marshmallow.
Oh I can see him smothered in that same marshmallow....LOL!
