A Day at the Shooting Range!

in #life7 years ago

So one of the things I really enjoy doing for fun, is target shooting. And something funny, is my eyesight is actually not the greatest... like at all...and so when I somehow manage to aim and hit my targets, it always makes me happy. Lol.

So on my way out the shooting range, this kind dude offered me to shoot this super cool Rifle.. that sounded like a bomb went off every time you shot it. Imagine my reaction. Lol
And it also lets out all this smoke! It was pretty awesome looking!!

Well that's it for this post guys, will be posting again soon though! Stayed tuned for more of my adventures! :)

I see you are continuing with the BA - Keep it up and keep rockin that mountain!!

I am curious about that rifle, and is the revolver a Taurus Judge or a S&W Governor?

Awesome!! Upvoted and resteemed!

I appreciate it :) Thank you

Is your pistol a Taurus Judge or the Smith & Wesson?
I see you're shooting the 45 Colt loads in it, have you tried the .410 shells yet?
Good shooting form, by the way!

I've shot both in a 3" Taurus Judge and was unimpressed with the .410 shot shells. It's been a while but I want to say I used buckshot at 5-7yrds shooting melons. I could have done better throwing the Judge at the melons.

I can understand your lack of enthusiasm with the .410 buckshot loads. There is either 3 or 4 pellets depending on the load, and the pattern is horrible from a short barrel. Somebody makes a multi disk defence load in .410 for the Judge, and those are somewhat better. The .45 Colt cowboy loads probably are the most effective for large targets. For snakes, the .410 birdshot shells work pretty well. I'm partial to #6 shot loads, but #7-1/2 shot would probably work well enough also.

Ya, I should have tried some bird shot. We live in the mountains now and would have probably stick to the 45 LC. I don't have the Judge anymore and either carry a 12ga or my 1911.

You can't go wrong with a 12 gauge! With a slug, it'll make a big hole in a bear if you had to.

Hopefully it want ever come to that but you know the saying, I'd rather have it and not need it...

have a good day.thanks for sharing.

This looks fun :)

Great post! Nice to know I'm not alone....

I've got macular problems and photophobia, but love photography!

That's one of my dream lol Following!

Ohh thank you!! Following back! :)

awesome, nice acting

I have always been an incredibly lousy shot, that is why I have never used weapons, just tried some target shooting, with a rifle I was not so ridiculous, but with a handgun once I nearly shot the guy I was practicing with.

Oh gosh.. hahah

I love shooting guns! My family had a big property where I grew, so we shot skeet quite a bit. What is your favorite gun to shoot?

Oh i think thats awesome :) I like shooting glocks the most! Some rifles.. How about you??

It was hehe I enjoy it a lot

I always wanted to try out shooting. Someday I will. This article as well as the pictures posted along with it is inspiring. Thanks for posting!

Aww, im happy to read that!! Thank you

That rifle looks like it has a suppressor on it, so it is not the loud one, correct? Did you get a photo of it?

Why do people practice with pistols at the range? I practice in case I have to shoot someone.

Weaver stance isn't as steady and low as isoceles. Have you considered those differences?

I recommend people practice for fighting, so you fight as you practiced. Standing straight up in a gun fight is a bad idea.

Never a bad way to spend the day.

Totally agreed

I would love to have a go at this!! It looks like awesome fun.

You should go!! Have fun!!

Dangerously good lookin' photos!!

Shooting is a lot of fun, especially when you hit targets! Looks like you had a good time and practiced good range safety. Thanks for posting.
