Ever happened to you: An idea appears. It’s such a gorgeous idea you can’t wait to enforce it!
But instead of that, you start to analyze it. You ask questions like whether it’s worth it, how much effort you should put in it, do you have enough time and skills, will it ever work, how much loss it can cost… Here comes the hesitation. It makes you feel uncertain and pushes you to look for more evidence that this is really a good idea.
Then you decide maybe you should give yourself more time to think about it. To come up with a good plan. To consider the risk and all points of view. To talk with some friends or relatives and ask for their opinion. To run through all the pros and cons once again. And then once more. That’s overthinking.
Your already hesitating mind is pushing you to do it because it is searching for a good reason to make you give up on that stupid whim of yours!
And the next player in the threesome – the doubt is there to finish you up.
“Is this gonna work? No ways. Let’s get back to real life”.
Decisions are to be taken. Every single minute of delay lowers the chances of acting as explained above. This mechanism is just trying to protect you by keeping you in comfort. But it isn’t helpful if you want to get courageous, take the risk and change something for the better.
Do not allow yourself to hesitate, overthink and deal quickly with all doubts.

This week my topic is “Risk”.
Luck favors the bold. I often times think to much about the consequences that it just overwhelms me into doing nothing. Worry is pointless. The energy spent on thinking about what to do usually lives me exhausted into doing the task. What helps is to set small goals for myself and just aim to hit them as fast I can. Focus on the problem at hand and do my best to solve it. Things seem to just fall into place when I just do something to get closer to the goals.
I just read a post earlier that reminded me that 2018 is the year I start "pulling the trigger" and stop hesitating, overthinking and doubting myself. I will start following through on my ideas and making them reality. Thanks for the post!
